Dance And Movement

Calling all Superheroes! Dance Camp (ages 3 – 7)

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a dancing Superhero! This nonstop, hip-hop inspired summer camp is catered towards the unmatched energy of a hero or heroine. Superheroes will get to show off their hip-hop dancing powers in this summer dance camp that includes dance class, art projects, a Superhero skit, and games like scavenger hunts and obstacle courses. Here is your Superhero’s chance to save the day!

Dancing Descendants Camp (ages 3 – 7)

Are you Rotten to The Core? "Chillin’ Like a Villain? Then join us in this camp for a magical adventure to Auradon Prep in our Dancing Descendants Camp! Your camper will dance like Evie and Mal, and leap and soar like Carlos and Jay to create a true Descendants experience. With unique crafts, whimsical skits and activities, mystical songs from the movies and more, your camper will stay magically moving. Family and friends are invited to Auradon Prep for a mystical performance at the end of the week. Friday family show last 30 min. of camp.

Camp

Rockstar Royalty Dance Camp (ages 3 – 7)

Join our camp for groovy fairies, and hardcore princes and princesses in an enchanted land far, far away. Campers will have a rockin’ time dancing at the ball, create art projects suited for royalty, rock out in a skit, and play noble dance games. The Friday mini-show is for families, allowing our magical dancers to jam out and show off their rockstar moves.

Tiny Movers Tap/Ballet (ages 3 - 4-1/2)

A combination dance class of tap, ballet, and dance games. This energetic and expressive class will have your Tiny Mover learning age-appropriate dance and motor skills, musicality, and rhythm to reach class goals in fun creative ways. This is the first big girls and boys class as parents watch from outside of the room. All participants are invited to be part of the annual spring recital in July 2023!

Star Shiners Tap & Ballet (ages 4-1/2 - 6)

Keep your Star Shiner moving in this tap and ballet combination dance class. This class introduces curriculum goals through fun movement allowing your dancer to be challenged while expressing themselves. Dancers develop dance, listening, and coordination skills, including an emphasis on ballet terminology and technique. Classes start with tap and transition into ballet each week. Classes are designed to be progressive and continuous, but payment and registration is per session. All participants are invited to be part of the annual spring recital in July 2023!

Beach Camps

Encinitas Junior Lifeguards (ages 9 -17)

Be a part of a 20-year plus Encinitas tradition. By combining education with recreation, participants learn about the ocean environment, gain professional lifesaving skills, and enjoy swimming, bodyboarding, bodysurfing, snorkeling, and skills competitions. Our goal is to educate young people in ocean and beach safety while building self-confidence and appreciation for the ocean environment. Visit www.EncinitasJG.com for more information.

Junior Lifeguards Aide (ages 15 -17)

If you are interested in becoming a Junior Lifeguard Aide, you must be between the ages of 15 and 17 and have prior experience in the Junior Lifeguard Program for at least one year. Visit the JG Aide page at www.EncinitasJG.com for more information.

Code of Conduct

The City of Encinitas Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department Code of Conduct is to ensure respectful and safe participation in Encinitas recreation programs and activities. Participants, as well as parents of participating minors, may be required to sign Code of Conduct forms to acknowledge program rules, goals, expected behavior and consequential actions to support a positive and valued learning and/or recreational experience. This Code of Conduct is also to be considered and adhered to by all contracted, voluntary and other support staff.

Encinitas Beach Kids (ages 6-8)

Join in on the fun this summer in this non-competitive beach program, focused on learning and fun. Participants are taught beach safety and awareness, basic first aid, marine life awareness, water etiquette, teamwork and engage in plenty of play! Seaside Day Camp (ages 5½ – 12)

Come join us for a great camp experience at Seaside Day Camp! You will have a blast with your friends participating in engaging art, science, dance, sports, and playful activities that will deliver an innovating-igniting experience you will love! Daily snack provided. Campers should pack a peanut free lunch each day. Our Seaside staff are looking forward to seeing you!

Each weekly package includes: Monday to Friday core program activities from 9am to 3pm with additional extended care options: A.M. care is 7 – 9am $30/Session – Search “Extended Care” P.M. care is 3 – 6pm $45/Session - Search “Extended Care”

Summer Seaside Jr. (ages 5 – 7)

Seaside Day Camp Counselor In Training Program

Counselors in training learn leadership and work-readiness skills while having fun in a supervised day camp program. Interested youth must complete a program application, interview, and training before summer. Please contact Elle Muse at (760)-943-2261 for application and more information by May 15.

Cooking Round the World: Sandwich Shop (ages 6 - 12)

Your child will enjoy the fun in making…. And eating…. Sandwiches! We introduce kids to a variety of breads and wrappings, common creations like grilled cheese with tomatoes, more unusual fare like a chow mein sandwich…. Plus interesting homemade shmears like hummus, and pesto.

Beat Breakers Hip Hop (ages 4-1/2 - 6)

These fun, high-energy classes will definitely have you movin' to the beats. Let loose while developing musicality, confidence, coordination, and creativity. No need to be intimidated. These classes are great for those who want to enhance their hip hop groove. All music and moves are age appropriate. Classes are designed to be progressive and continuous, but payment and registration is per session. All participants are invited to be part of the annual spring recital in July 2023!

Peace Through Food (ages 6 - 12)

This Camp looks at the conflict between warring countries and discusses how peace could be brought about. We cook and eat foods from both countries in an effort to show how breaking bread could bring about harmony.
