Through the years, the Atlanta Blues Festival has provided a look at the making of Blues as an integral part of American musical history. Blues music originates from the South in the 1890s, and Atlanta was a pre-war Blues city that became the home of Piedmont Blues. Piedmont Blues’ melodic strumming and rugged feel of guitars are impressions carried by the city’s music through the years. This year’s festival line-up includes artists form mainstream to local, including Pokey Bear, Bobby Rush, Shirley Brown, Clarence Carter, Latimore, Theodis Ealey and Melvia “Chick” Rodgers-Williams.

Tickets start at $53 and are available from Ticketmaster.com or the Synovus Box Office at Cobb Energy Centre.
