CURRENT & upcoming FAMILY-FRIENDLY CONCERTS, PRODUCTIONS & EXHIBITIONS Alliance Theatre ALLIANCE STAGE Cinderella and Fella Through April 9 Directed by Rosemary Newcott A magical retelling of the Cinderella story that’s more high-tops than glass slipper and is fueled by the magic of lightning bugs, singing cicadas and oozing mud. The young prince, who was raised by an overbearing parent, searches the kingdom for a best friend ready for adventure. Cinderella, who has spent countless days pulling her ungrateful stepmother around in her tiny house, fits the bill. Filled with humor and wonder, this is a world-premiere adaptation by Atlanta’s own Janece Shaffer with music by S. Renee Clark.

ANNE COX CHAMBERS WING Daniel Arsham: Hourglass Through May 21 This exhibition continues artist Daniel Arsham’s ongoing project Fictional Archaeologies, in which he creates replicas of everyday objects — such as basketballs and cameras — in precious and semiprecious stones. Lobby & Second Level

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra SYMPHONY HALL Music for the Very Young: Meet the Percussion Music for the Very Young’s series Meet Our Families: An Introduction to the Instruments of the Orchestra takes you and your family on a journey to discover the Woodwind, Brass, String and Percussion families throughout the season in four separate programs — each highlighting one specific family of instruments. Then, at the end of the season, these same musicians will join forces to offer performances together as an ensemble ... or, as we like to think of it, one big family. On April 22 and 23, we will meet instruments such as the glockenspiel, marimba, triangle, snare drum and more as performed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Acting Principal Percussionist Charles Settle.
