America’s Test Kitchen Shares Tips with Holiday Cooks During GPB Virtual Event Thanks to our friends at America’s Test Kitchen, one group of Georgians is prepped and ready to cook their holiday meals at home this year! Recently, GPB was pleased to welcome America’s Test Kitchen hosts Julia Collin Davison and Bridget Lancaster for a virtual event to share insights and tips for a great home-cooked holiday meal. From Oysters Rockefeller to crunchy spiced nuts and festive cocktails, it was a true happy hour to kick off the holiday season! If you weren’t able to join this event, you can still enjoy! Make your own versions of these dishes and share a picture on the GPB Facebook page with the hashtag #GPBHolidayCooks, and we’ll be sending one lucky winner their very own America’s Test Kitchen prize pack and an invitation to participate in an interactive online America’s Test Kitchen cooking class in 2021! Georgia Educators Shine in Let’s Learn GA! Georgia educators are getting their chance to shine in Let’s Learn GA!, a collection of instructional, teacher-led videos designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. “These teacher-created video lessons are yet another example of our amazing Georgia educators adapting during unprecedented circumstances,” said Dr. Caitlin Dooley, Deputy Superintendent for Teaching and Learning at the Georgia Department of Education. Let’s Learn GA! is a part of the Georgia Home Classroom, a partnership between GPB and the Georgia Department of Education that offers free learning opportunities for families, teachers, and students. Lessons are aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence and are captioned in English and Spanish. Covering all subjects, Let’s Learn GA! is designed to support students who are learning at home or in the classroom. They can be used to introduce, supplement, or extend learning. More videos will be added throughout the school year.

To help kids get in the holiday spirit and teach them about the meaning and unique traditions associated with each occasion, PBS Parents has put together lists of family-friendly books that you can read together.
