GPB EDUCATION
Join GPB online Wednesday, March 24 at 4 p.m. for a Sesame Street in Communities Community Summit. Early childhood experts from Sesame Workshop and from right here in Georgia will discuss the strong feelings that young children can have, particularly during stressful times, and share strategies and resources to help children grow and thrive.
GPB is one of 10 stations nationwide selected to participate in the Sesame Street in Communities Public Media Station Champions project. Sesame Street in Communities (SSIC) is a Sesame Workshop initiative providing tools and resources to empower parents, caregivers, and service providers to support children in key areas that are critical for children’s wellbeing and success: early learning, health, and socio-emotional well-being.
In addition to the upcoming March 24 event, last month, early childhood educators from across the state gathered online for a series of free professional learning workshops off ered by GPB to share information, resources, and application methods to support young children around the topics of Health Emergencies, Resilience, and Exploring Emotions.
