STEVE SELIG BLACK BOX THEATER From Head to Toe | Sept. 24–Nov. 6 Inspired by Eric Carle’s beloved book of the same name, From Head to Toe invites the youngest audience members to think, observe and move like their favorite animals. Featuring a scenic design that mirrors Carle’s illustrations and interactive animal movement, this play moves from “Can you do it?” to “We can do it!” From Head to Toe is presented in conjunction with the High Museum of Art’s exhibition I See a Story: The Art of Eric Carle. high.org/art/exhibitions/eric-carle

SIFLY PIAZZA Tiovivo: Whimsical Sculptures by Jaime Hayon | Through Nov. 27 Designer Jaime Hayon created this work as the third in a series of large-scale, interactive installations on the Sifly Piazza. EVENT ROOM Meet Our Families: An Introduction to the Instruments of the Orchestra | October 1 – May 21, 2017 This season, Music for the Very Young will be offering a series called Meet Our Families: An Introduction to the Instruments of the Orchestra. This series of performances will take you and your family on a journey to discover and learn all about members of the woodwind, brass, string and percussion families throughout the season in four separate programs, each highlighting one specific family of instruments. Then, at the end of the season, these same musicians will join forces to offer performances together as an ensemble...or as we like to think of it, one big family. SYMPHONY HALL Phantoms of the Orchestra | October 30, 2016 Atlanta Symphony Hall is haunted – by spooky music and crazy costumes! Join Assistant Conductor Joseph Young on a Halloween adventure with the Magic Circle Mime Company as they lead the ghoulish orchestra in a concert just for families, with music from Dukas’ Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. Dress in your Halloween best to be a part of our costume contest! Concert length is approximately one hour with no intermission. For more information and tickets, please visit aso.org/family

The Granny Nanny Cultural Group Performance Join us on Sifly Piazza for a performance by these master musicians, storytellers and healers from the Maroon settlement of Moore Town, Jamaica. First formed in the early 1990s, the group honors the legacy of Queen Nanny of the Windward Jamaican Maroons, Jamaica’s only female national hero. 1, 2 AND 3 P.M. | SIFLY PIAZZA Lloyd’s Rocksteady Revue Lloyd’s Rocksteady Revue performs the soulful sounds of Jamaica, including rocksteady, reggae and ska tunes, with band members from Atlanta, St. Lucia, St. Croix and Dominica. 1:30, 2:30 AND 3:45 P.M. | SIFLY PIAZZA I See a Story: The Art of Eric Carle Scavenger Hunt Pick up a scavenger hunt in the exhibition and explore the world of Eric Carle at your own pace. 1 – 4 P.M. | WIELAND PAVILION | LOWER LEVEL Fall Into Color Family Guide As we watch the leaves change outside, discover the wonders of fall colors inside the High Museum. Wire Leaf Sculptures Workshop Inspired by fall, you’ll work with High Museum teaching artists to make your own masterpiece. 1 – 4 P.M. | STENT FAMILY WING, LOWER LEVEL, GREENE FAMILY EDUCATION CENTER Object Group Interventions Inspired by the permanent collection and special exhibitions, the Object Group has created museum interventions to bring curiosity and joy into the galleries. From singing elevator operators to toys cavorting in front of landscape paintings, these mini-performances are designed to make your family laugh, smile and look a little closer at the magnificent art all around us. 1 – 4 P.M. | IN-GALLERY Musical Story Time: The Very Hungry Caterpillar Join in the fun as we explore music and movement through an interactive experience inspired by Eric Carle’s famous book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Music Discovery Zone Have you ever wanted to write your own song or compose your own symphony?
