Introduction / Since the formation of Erre que Erre, one of the constants and identity of the group at work throughout all these years has been the constant pursuit of an assembly after mounting developments in both its content and form. From an interior point of view, the group has always been interested in finding new methods of work to address each new assembly. The next challenge, on the basis and infrastructure that Erre que Erre permits, is conducting a dance solo next to an interactive multimedia artist, Román Torre. Context* / I met Romテ。n Torre nearly a year ago, during this time he walked to the preparations for his latest project Lifefloor (Beta), which is an interactive installation based on an algorithm called "cellular automata" and more specifically, the "Game of Life", designed by British mathematician John Horton Conway in 1970 and since its publication, has attracted much interest due to the great variability in the evolution of cellular patterns. This short video shows the running Lifefloor interacting with a person over a basic way (the video is also included on the CD that is presented with this project). The truth is that the limited space that creates the piece invites an investigation of the movement almost to the body's own innate reaction that caused the displacement in their cell-pixels; the viewers that "live" the work somehow end up dancing through space, playing with the speed or immobility, with the extent of gestures or the subtlety of the same, with the contemplation of "wake" that makes your intervention in this land and even the evolution of the ecosystem, for the simple fact that in essence, it really is alive: it has a set of rules, behaviors and patterns (artificial intelligence) that although a principle escape our perception, little by little we can, through observation and intuitive, understand its logic and autonomy. Lifefloor is currently designed for an interactive installation where the viewer becomes part of their interaction with the living system. Many people have already passed since its inauguration in the first International Media Art Forum for Youth (IMAFY), Cairo (Egypt) and Lifefloor which was awarded the "Gold Brush" and until last September 22 was exposed in Homo Ludens Ludens exhibition at the Art and Education Center Building Industry, which is shown in magazines and have set a number of other digital publications Duch as Forbes, We make money not art, etc.

Investigation / Technically, this project is the research and interaction of the body moving along with the interactive piece Lifefloor (beta) as a basis, and, at the same time, the possibility of research in the improvement of algorithms and applications, such as incorporating Lifefloor. Both of us, me and Romテ。n, are interested in research opportunities that can have a software or hardware to develop a certain stage or complete autonomy. So this piece is in the middle between the real and the virtual, the automatic (scheduled) and random, explicitly directed by the man to a physical and unpredictability, algorithms speaking at a goodwill. Avatar* starts from an encounter between two ways of understanding the space, between the physical scale that provides the human body in space and the desire for tangible significance of it, to overcome the barrier posed by the subject, perhaps, in other worlds, developing ways to understand the complex reality in which we live: we can easily check with the current intangible technologies that allow us to explore other realities through digitization.

In Second Life, the avatar replaced our representation in the virtual world, play a role for us that we can now see with our own eyes. Technical development* / Avatar is based on the ground, this is because it is the only space occupied by the virtual events happening within the show and taking this as a reference, a rectangular interactive touch screen, where various planning, real time data, and visual effects will interact. While developing the dance solo, the dance performer will be in constant dialogue with the software created for the piece, being the person responsible for the different pre-programmed events narrative. They react on the movements, different attitudes and gestures; the space, within the possibilities of the body, is in the area bounded by the screening and by the detection of the camera, which constantly sends signals to the computer position. The camera is responsible for processing the data and sending it through the screening stage in real time. The measures are variable, because they depends on the video projection and its relation with the space; everything is a part of basic measures of 5x5m2 with a minimum height of 5m from the video lens to the ground.
