BACK TO BALANCE IN CROATIA A JOURNEY OF RECOVERY FROM THE EMOTIONAL STRESSORS OF COVID-19

1

A JOURNEY OF HEALING “Healing is matter of time, but it is also sometimes a matter of opportunity”

Hippocrates

The Back to Balance Journey is experiential. All actiities at sea and on land have been custom designed and guided by a team of Blue Life Navigators to invoke a Blue Mind. A Blue Mind as described by Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, PHD, “A mildly meditative state characterized by calm, peace, unity and a sense of general happiness and satisfaction with life in the present moment. Your journey’s mission is to return to balance, to a state of equilibrium. Recent events in the world have tipped the scales towards fear placing the mind in a highly reactive state. A chronic state of perceived fear reeks havoc on the mind which manifests itself in the body. In some cases the effects of stress are immediate; low energy, headaches, aches, pains, insomnia. However in many cases, the emotional trauma of global events reside deeper in the subconscious mind. To help you return to a state of balance we have provided a safe haven for the mind, an opportunity to stop the chatter, release the doubt and fears to return to a Blue Mind through a reconnection to nature, to water thus allowing for an alternative perspective to emerge. 2

The mind needs a landscape in which to heal. As we understand that much of what is going on today feels completely out of our control we’ve taken the time to address the unknowns of travel during the time of Covid. While we can’t remove all the underlying fears, we have addressed the uncertainties of being in a foreign land, of being out at sea and most of all feeling vulnerability. We’ve painstakingly designed a journey in the time Coronavirus with the intent of recharging your emotional resilience to help you feel stronger to address uncertainties that may lie ahead.

ple," said Orfeu Buxton, an associate professor of bio-behavioral health at Pennsylvania State University. Reducing cortisol levels in the brain is the key component to achieving a meditative mind state.

Traveling at sea aboard a private cruising vessel where you choose who is traveling with you, allows you to experience all of nature’s beauty safely without the stress of travel with unknown individuals. We’ve removed many of the points of uncertainty to give space to the stunning blue waters, to the soothing sounds of the wind all working in harmony telling your Mind to Relax. An opportunity for reflection, perspective and social distancing without all the negative side effects. You become one with the sea socially distant yet emotionally connected. Why does Water and Water sounds have such a powerful effect on our brain? Our brains interpret the noises we hear — both while awake and in the dead of night — as either threats or non-threats.The sound of the wind or the water gently lapping up against the vessel are non-threatening sounds. "These slow, whooshing noises are the sounds of non-threats, which is why they work to calm peo-

Q: Aren’t small cruise yachts the same as Cruise Ships? A: No a small cruise yacht is like a private yacht with a larger capacity for guests. There is one charterer and he/she invites the guests that they want to have on board. They can still share the costs as individuals. Q: What is the capacity of the small cruise yachts? A: Typically the yachts are designed for 14-17 couples anywhere from 28 to 34 guests. Due to Covid-19 we have removed a stateroom in all vessels that will be used as a safe zone in the unlikely event that a passenger comes down with symptoms while on their journey. Q. What assurances do I have about the vessels cleanliness? A: Private yacht charters have always required high level of sanitization due to the passenger safety requirements. With Covid-19 an additional certified level of sanitization has been added. Each vessel is sanitized pre/post charter. Q: Do you supply masks? A: Each vessel has been equipped with hand sanitizers throughout the yacht and with masks should you not have come with your own.

service in more intimate settings no more than a party of 10 have been established throughout the dining service. Q: What about the crew? How do we know they don’t have the virus? A: All crew members by local law must be tested for the virus and subsequently measured for their temperature pre/post each charter. Q: What if I contract the virus while on my trip? A: A stateroom has been set aside as a safe room until we can get proper medical attention. Traveling in the mediterranean allows for limited medical fees for treatment and in many cases free. Croatia has one of the lowest Covid cases. Q: What if the previous charter there was someone with Covid symptoms? A: The vessel will be sanitized per local CDC guidelines and will require to pass an inspection. Q: Will we be allowed to visit the islands or do we stay on the yacht the entire time? A: Yes you will be allowed to visit the islands. We have organized experiences such as Oyster tasting right on the farm! We have adjusted all land based activities to comply with local social distancing requirements.

Q: What about buffet dining is that safe?

Q: Wont the trip feel different with all the restrictions?

A: First you are with people that you have invited and that hopefully had an opportunity to either test for anti-bodies or take a Covid test prior to arriving. In addition, the dining service has been modified to reduce any associated risk with buffet dining. Breakfast in stateroom, self service packaged items such as yogurt and dining

A: No restrictions in traveling at sea have always existed whether it is to adjust course for weather, discuss safety procedures or someone getting sick on board. Fortunately we have years of experience in making adjustments. This is nothing new for the yachting industry. 4

JOURNEY HIGHLIGHTS A 7 day experiential journey through the Venetian influenced coastal sea towns and islands. Experience the Mediterranean as it once was with quaint fishing villages, endless fields of lavender, old world charm and friendly warm hearted Croatians waiting to show you the best that their country has to offer.

We can never put into an itinerary all that you will experience because sometimes it can’t be expressed in words it has to felt. It’s a collective yet individual journey where places and activities will resonate with each traveller differently. The highlights itinerary is meant to do just that provide highlights. Along the way, the Captain along with your Blue Life Navigators will make the necessary adjustments to the itinerary to ensure a state of balance is always present.

Split Embarkation day is always an exciting day and typically the longest day. Meeting your Captain and crew, seeing the yacht, unpacking, settling in, going over the itinerary and emergency procedures are definitely exhausting! You will be ready for your first on board afternoon refreshment. Your Captain will begin his journey to your next stop Milna but not before your guided walking tour of Split before you head out.

Day 1 Embarkation & Welcome Aboard! 12

Day 2 HVAR A walk in the lavender fields will tell you why Hvar is famous for its lavender—the aromatic beauty alone will stay in your memory for years to come. The use of essential oils for emotional trauma has been around for thousands of years and recently scientifically proven to offer measurable positive effects on wellbeing. In the lavender fields, is a good place to bring up some emotional triggers and let the floral sent of the flower replace those triggers with a feeling of gratitude.

south-west is famous for the blue cave which you can enter by tender. During the day, the sun reflects off of the sea bottom which creates a magical azure blue throughout the cave. An ideal location to practice a Blue Mind. Day 4 KORCULA The island Korcula often referred to as the "little Dubrovnik" since it is very similar in squares and architecture with fewer tourists which makes it perfect for an afternoon stroll followed by an evening out dinner. Don’t stress - we’ll have dinner recommendations and reservations handled for you on board through your on board concierge.

Day 3 VIS/BISEVO Vis/Bisevo: The island of Vis used to be an important hub for military airplanes. Hence some of the best airplane-wreck dive sites are found near the island. The small island a little bit further to the

Day 5 Miljet The entire island is a national park and it’s all about nature and relaxation. The islands also

host to a large "lake" with two adjoining salt water lakes. Naturally we would drop anchor for guests to enjoy a nice swim in the blue waters surrounding Mljet. If swimming isn’t your thing - that’s OK because the island is also famous for white wine, olives and goat cheese so maybe some cycling, hiking on the island followed by some wine, cheese and olive tasting.

Day 6 Slano

Hvar - a stunning island with breathtaking views filled with the aroma of lavender.

An idyllic turquoise beach perfect for some creative expression, water immersion, journaling or just some good old fashion very therapeutic self reflection. The water is crystal clear gazing in its depths it captures your complete attention. I feel some intense soul searching coming on

or maybe just relax with a good book and chill. Life’s Good when lived in the moment.

Day 7 Dubrovnik & Elaphiti Islands Your last night on board! Can you believe how fast the week has gone by. Time for one final Wine & Wisdom, enjoy the Elaphiti Islands a beautiful archipelago for some water immersion and water play and maybe some fine dining in Dubrovnik at sunset. How about a gratitude meditation with your crew. By now you should all be relaxed, soul a little lighter, a little more open. Maybe you’ve given some space to yourself and to those in your tribe to heal, to reflect to come back into balance.

Disembarkation day but first a morning breakfast prepared fresh by your crew. How about some last minute journaling. One more Mediterranean deep breath to carry you forward into uncertainties but with the knowledge that we are all connected.

“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever”
