As I’m sitting in my office, I see a card my mother had sent me.
On the cover it says,
“You can do it!” I believe this is the message God desires for me to give you today. Many of you have been faithful in the works the Lord Jesus has called you to do, but in the end you are starting to grow weary. God doesn’t want you to grow weary; He wants you to dig deep within you to keep persevering for Him.
Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” Your eyes need to be fixed upon Jesus, for He Who is faithful will not put you to shame. God will bring forth the harvest of our efforts.
He will also give strength to the weary when
we ask Him. Ask Him to be your strength and watch Him manifest Himself to you. For others, God is asking you to step out into a new realm with Him, and you are terrified. Listen to me; if God has called you to it, He will see you through it!
God doesn’t call the
equipped, but He will equip the called. You are ready because He has said so.
Do not allow fear to intimidate you. Fear is not of God. God did not give us a spirit of fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline�. Look at this season as a new opportunity to see a greater revelation of God. you to be an eye witness to what He is about to do through you.

you are making a difference in lives around you!
May the Lord strengthen your feeble hands and feet this day and give you the persevering Spirit of Christ within you to accomplish all He has ordained for you to do for Him.

boldly, as I ought to speak (NASB). These are words of battle, instructions to clothe for battle, and descriptions of the foe. The first words are crucial: Be strong! Ενδυναμουσθε (endunamousthe) is the Greek word. It is not a word of encouragement; it is a command. “Be strong!” Be strong in faith. In Luke 22 Jesus tells Peter that He has prayed for him “that his faith would not fail…” Strength of faith comes from making choices of what we are going to believe. We say, “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it!” This is a statement of decision. I have decided to believe what 17

Our enemy knows that if our minds are tied up, then we won’t be able to live in the freedom that we ought. When you choose to think about what God says, Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32, NIV). We feel out of control, but really we have everything we need to think on truth and get off the hamster wheel. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things (Philippians 4:8, NIV). The day after the tragedy
of the horrible school stabbing in my school
district –so close to home, so close to my heart, I awaken feeling gloomy, feeling numb. As I realize what just happened in our community…in our small, beautiful, rural community…a district known for excellence, known for it’s wonderful teachers—solid and well rounded, I feel such a sense of sadness—that evil had tainted and penetrated our lives…our town and our kids. They were the future generation destined for greatness…for destiny…not because of where they lived, but for WHOM they lived for! Many of these kids served in our local churches. Many loved God…loved their parents…loved one another! Many of these kids served the community in various ways…They were full of life…full of hope for the future! All have God-given destinies…to discover and walk out!
So as I awakened, this morning, I felt this gloom, this sorrow. As I looked outside, the sun was shining down brightly, and I heard the Holy Spirit say: upon you.”
“Yes, the Son is shining down
He continued, “Let the Light in. Let The LIGHT In!”
So I prophetically opened up all of the blinds in my house to let the light in! Yes, to let the light of His promises in and His glorious presence in. For He has come to open the eyes of the blind. Jesus, our Bright and Morning Star, shining down; desiring to shine into every home, into every heart, into every dark and gloomy area; bringing healing, hope and restoration. I then felt prompted to look up the Scriptures on Light. Here is what was spoken to us: Jesus spoke…again to the people, He said, “I am the Light of the World…Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8: 12). He reminded me of the beginning – way back to the Book of Beginnings, Genesis, when God and Jesus created the heavens and the earth when He declared: “Let there be light and there was light” (Genesis 1: 3). Let’s think about this. The footnote in my study bible says: “God’s first creative word CALLED FORTH LIGHT in the midst of the primeval darkness.” an analogy?

This had me thinking that we should also do the same in our own lives. Yes, the morning after the tragedy, God was “CALLING FORTH” light into the darkness that just hit our community, our small rural community… He then took me to another New Beginning: John 1: 1-2 In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. J
Jesus is with us in our new beginnings! There it was; Jesus, God, was in the middle of the new beginning and He wants to remind us of that. For through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it (John 1: 3-4).
Some translations say: ‘The darkness has not overcome’ ; Indeed darkness has
not overcome us. Darkness has struck our community but it shall not overcome our community. It shall NOT settle in our community but rather, I pray, it shall succumb to the Light of Jesus. That His light will hover over our schools, over our churches, over our homes, over the people of God who desire restoration, to those who have COME TO THE LIGHT, who have come to Jesus to see Him restore, heal and mend. Something within me began to rise-up and declare: The Light Shines IN the darkness! The Light of Christ WILL restore, WILL heal, WILL restore us unto Him and WILL bring us back to Jesus!
Tragedy often causes us to run to Him, to cling to Him as our anchor, as our strength and as our hope! So I encourage you today to open up the blinds of your heart and choose to remove the blinders that have kept us from seeing, and allowing, His light to shine brightly in our hearts. For when He shines within us, He shines outward. For the Light came into the world and The Light became flesh and dwelt among us. Allow His Light to come inside of you to shine INTO the dark places of sorrow within to expose and push-out the darkness. For The true light that gives light to every man has come into the world (John 1: 9). For He, Jesus, was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him (John 1: 10). I hear the Holy Spirit shouting, saying:
“Recognize Him! Receive Him! Believe in Him!”
Don’t let the darkness of what has happened keep you distant from Him. Recognize and remember His goodness! Come to the Light, Come to Jesus who is The Light of our communities - The Light of the World. He desires for us to see His love, to see His grace and receive His truth. For He IS…The One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1: 14). For when we understand and embrace His light, He promises that: Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life (John 8: 12).
What John
is saying, is:
When we follow Jesus, we will not walk in the darkness, but rather,
we will have His light inside of us. This Light will bring us hope within that inturn will bring us healing within. Having said that, we are not guaranteed that darkness will be kept from harming us, but we are promised that the darkness and the light will be separated from within. For He will turn the darkness (turn the tragedy) into light, He will use all the evil for good; for our good and for the good of others. Remember that the picture is bigger then what we see. It is in experiencing the darkness that we TURNS TO THE LIGHT. When tragedy hits, it compels us to hope, to turn to the Light, to turn to Him—The Light of the World—Our Hope of Glory, Our Strength, Our Healer, The One who forgives and gives Eternal life. Look at our life. Look at what we were created for:
To Walk in the Light—As He is in the
Light! To Walk in the world—Releasing His light, His truth—into the darkness, and bring His message of hope! Yes, the Son of Righteousness is rising with Healing on His Wings! Let Him cover you and let Him Shine down upon you. Look up and look within and He will carry you. For when the Son of Righteousness rises He WILL turn the hearts of the Fathers to their children, and the hearts of their children to their fathers. For this is what what God our Father, STILL wants to accomplish. To turn our hearts to Him, To turn our hearts to one another And use us to heal our land! SO HOW DOES ONE RECOVER FROM TRAGEDY?

to the Lord. For some, it’s Returning to the Light, Returning to the Lord! So let’s give our circumstances, our tragedies, TO HIM, and allow Him to TURN OUR HEARTS and TURN OUR SORROW, to be used for His purposes and for His glory! For the last several weeks, I have been studying the seven different messages to the churches in the book of Revelations.
As I was reading through each of the letters, there seemed to
be a common denominator between all of them- the emphasis of their works for the Lord. As I continued to reflect upon God’s Word, I came upon this passage in Luke. Scripture Reading: Luke 10:38-42, “As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. all the preparations that had to be made.
She had a sister called
But Martha was distracted by
She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you
care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself?
Tell her to help me!” “Martha,
Martha, the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” I want you to notice some key points from this passage that the Lord gave me. First, Martha had opened her home to Jesus. Martha wanted to be close to Jesus.
She had welcomed Him and the other disciples.
How often do we want to be close to Jesus? What
is our responsibility of engaging with Him?
I believe we need to respond to Jesus like Martha
did – invite Him to our home.
The first part of developing an intimate relationship with God
is to welcome Him into our hearts, where He will make His home.
Ephesians 3:17, “so that
Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith…” reinforces God’s desire to dwell and be completely at home within us. However, there is a warning Jesus tells Martha, just as He did to the seven churches in Revelation. Him.
