February Newsletter It is with saddest regards we announce that our manager Ronda will be leaving our centre on February 15th. Ronda has been with the centre since it opened almost 4 years ago. She has been a wonderful manager, teacher and friend to us all. She will be missed dearly by all staff and children. We are wishing her the best in her future endeavours and hope that she will come in for visits regularly. Please feel free to give Ronda your own goodbye wishes as we know she has a soft spot for all the children, and their parents and would love to say farewell to everyone before she leaves.

Up here in the north the weather is very unpredictable. One day it’s spring weather the next its back to -20. We want to make sure we can take advantage of any mild weather so please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the conditions. Full snow gear is required even on warm sunny days. All items should be labeled and size appropriate. If your child does not have the required clothing, a staff member will be contacting you to drop it off. Attention Infant parents: Please make sure all spare clothing is put into your child’s cubby located in the I/T bathroom. It makes it very difficult for the teachers who are changing diapers/clothing to have to retrieve needed items from the lobby. All bedtime necessities such as blankets/pillows and other naptime needs, must be put into your child’s specific sleeping area during morning drop off. This ensures an easier nap time transition. It is mandatory for all parents/guardians to walk their child into the appropriate classroom. It is very unsafe to leave a child in the lobby unattended. They are not to enter the classroom by themselves. The infant teachers are not responsible for bringing the older children into the 3-5 classroom and vice versa. Parents need to make full contact with their child’s teacher before leaving the child. Valentines class lists will be sent via e-mail along with the February newsletter, snack menu and calendars. Please make sure you have received your list. If you have not received your list please let us knows and we can re-send or print it off for you. Valentines cards are not a requirement and there is no obligation to send them. If you want to bring Valentines, please bring them in, on or before February12th as this is our party date. We are not having a potluck this year, and we will not be accepting any food including desserts, as we will be baking cupcakes with the children already. Reminders: • February 8th 2016 is Family Day and the centre will be closed. • Early closure is February 22nd (Late fees will apply) • We are a peanut/tree nut free centre If you have any questions/concerns, feel free to come into the office or call the centre (250)793-5437 Jessica Giesbrecht
