The road to net zero has never been more rocky. It’s time to put other concerns aside and get serious about sustainability.

The pandemic has disrupted the entire planet, supply chains are struggling, a recession looms in the distance throwing uncertainty over global sustainability efforts, as governments and businesses direct their attention to what seems like more immediate concerns.

This has been the story for generations, there is always another fire to put out, another financial crisis, another war, another civil rights issue to resolve, so we continue to put the sustainability of our planet on the backburner.

But climate change is coming. It’s evident in the flash floods, forest fires, and severe droughts that are throwing our world into chaos. There is no concern more immediate than the safety of our planet.

As is said, a fish rots from the head, which is why it is so important to take a top down approach to sustainability, carbon literacy, and ESG in pursuit of our global net zero goals. It is imperative that businesses work towards a circular economy, sustainable manufacturing, and continue adapting to a warming planet to ensure food security for the next generation.

The time is now.
