CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER STACY NORMAN CEO GLEN WHITE
ow exciting to have the chance to assemble a Top 100 for Sustainability Magazine for the first time - and a brilliant one for all that. At BMG we are not just celebrating the ascent of women in the corporate world alongside the rising adoption, acceleration, and practice of sustainability worldwide. March has seen the launch of March8, the brainchild of COO Stacy Norman and led by the trailblazing Editor in Chief Lucy Buchholz. Lucy has become a regular feature of our Linkedin Live shows and her magazine will change the face of how the corporate world covers women, providing a space to Educate, Motivate, Elevate. This list is part of the wider effort to do just that. The women featured are extraordinary people whose impact we feel every day and whose work is shaping the future, and our present, as we live in it. They come from a huge range of industries, some with experience across several, and the organisations they represent form the hyperconnected grid of our global economy. They are the business world.

TOP 100 WOMEN
Female
T
his list was a privilege to put together, not least given the diversity of the voices we got to pull together, but the sheer impact the combined weight of impact the 100 women here have every day. The past century has seen the arrival, in force, of women in the workplace - a sustainability objective in itself. Our world is becoming one in which shared identity has less effect on corporate teambuilding and goal-setting than the shared experience and common purpose of the work itself. There are some inclusions here that we hotly debated, not on the merits of their work but on whether we should include the nature of their work, and then what those definitions should be allowed to include. Our focus is on the corporate world, but certain roles, such as the International Programmes
work by UNICEF, directly impacts not just people but economy functions in a wide part of the world, as well as the direct assistance and cultivation of sustainable initiatives, from education, women's health, economic empowerment, of waste management. We endeavoured to keep our methodology as unbiased and fair as possible, but will no doubt leave some disappointed. Some extraordinary women have not made the list but a number is unbiased, we can't go beyond those constraints any more than we change the list criteria. Let us acknowledge them here. We applied editorial criteria, applied purposebuilt algorithms, adjusted for current events, and analysed multiplier influences, creating a list reflecting a non-bias approach and editorial policy. Congratulations to all!
