SELLE SMP, FA CENTRO IN CINA CON METLUSKENKO, MERLO TERZO
La vittoria di Yuri Metlushenko nella 1^ tappa del Tour de Hainan
Dalla Cina arrivano i colpi di coda di una stagione 2010 più che soddisfacente dei team equipaggiati Selle SMP. Impegnati in Oriente, hanno portato il marchio made in Italy a dominare il podio della kermesse d’apertura del Tour de Hainan. A fare nuovamente centro e quindi indossare la prima maglia di leader è stato lo sprinter Yuri Metlushenko che ha iniziato con il colpo di pedale migliore l'avventura sulle rotte della corsa cinese hors categorie. Il velocista ucraino dell’Amore&Vita-Conad ha vinto la prima tappa disputata nella città di Sanya, precedendo allo sprint l'olandese Kenny Van Hummel (Skil) poi vincitore di due tappe di fila, e il neoprofessionista veronese Michele Merlo, portacolori della Footon-Servetto-Fuji, il team di Mauro Gianetti equipaggiato Selle SMP. A 34 anni quindi, Metlushenko continua a pedalare sulla cresta dell'onda e a vincere gare di livello. Successivamente Footon e Amore&Vita hanno continuato a ottenere piazzamenti nella corsa a tappe che ha pure registrato una giornata di forzata pausa per le inondazioni che hanno colpito il paese: la sesta delle nove tappe annullate, con la settima a forte rischio. L’australiano Johnnie Walker (Footon) è salito sul gradino più basso del podio nella 2. tappa, come Metlushenko nella terza dove nella top ten di giornata si sono infilati pure due “Gold Generation” di Gianetti: gli spagnoli Enrique Mata (6°) e Vidal Celis Zabala (9°). Anche nelle tappe successive i due club impegnati nella lunga trasferta hanno continuato a collezionare piazzamenti: il solito Metlushenko quinto e Vidal Celis Zabala ottavo nella 4. tappa, con l’ukraino Bileka ottavo e Metlushenko undicesimo nella quinta. MTB - Importante finale di stagione per il GT Brondello Pro team, che con la Roc d’Azur ha chiuso la stagione e ha dato l’arrivederci al 2011. L’appuntamento di Frejus era di quelli da brividi, degno di un mondiale, per numero e qualità dei partecipanti e per il grande pubblico sempre presente. Tre gli atleti al via Paolo Montoya (nella foto), Davide e Massimo Rosa. Montoya, già rientrato in Costa Rica e dopo un ottimo settembre, ha voluto congedarsi con una prestazione da 6 in pagella. Il livello era altissimo, con 4300 al via, con l’iridato marathon Lakata, Stander, Sauser e tanti altri grandi campioni. Alla fine dei 54 km Montoya ha chiuso in 36^ posizione a 9’ dal vincitore Lakata edavanti a campioni di primissimo livello. Risultati discreti sono arrivati anche dai due fratelli Rosa: Davide 35° e 2° tra gli italiani e Massimo 39° nelle rispettive categorie.

There arrive the last signals of the 2010 season from China which are very satisfying for the teams equipped with the SMP Saddles. Busy in Orient, they made the made in Italy mark shine and dominate during the opening gala of Tour de Hainan. It was the sprinter Yuri Metlushenko to win again and to wear the first leader jersey. He has started this adventure of the Chinese race in the horse category with the best pedal hit. This Ukrainian sprinter from ’Amore&VitaConad won the first stage which was held in the Sanya city and preceded the Dutch sprinter Kenny Van Hummel (Skil), who successively won two stages in a row as well as the new professional from Verona Michele Merlo, who was wearing the colours of Footon-Servetto-Fuji, the team of Mauro Gianetti ewuipped with the SMP Saddles. Therefore, at the age of 34, Metlushenko keeps on pedaling and winning the races of high level. Successively, the Footon and Amore&Vita kept on gaining good places in the stage race which had to be withhold due to the flooding of the city: the sixth stage was cancelled and the seventh of nine stages was disputed with great risk. The Australian Johnnie Walker (Footon) reached the lowest podium place in the 2nd stage, such as Metlushenko in the third one, when in the ten top of the day there arrived two “Gold Generation” of Gianetti: the Spanish Enrique Mata (6°) and Vidal Celis Zabala (9°). Also in the following stages, the ewo clubs engaged in this long transfer continued to obtain th good places: Metlushenko got fifth and Vidal Celis Zabala the eight one in the 4 stage, with Ukrainian Bileka eighth and Metlushenko eleventh in the fifth stage. MTB – Important season ending for the GT Brondello Pro team, who closed the season with the Roc d’Azur and is to be seen in 2011. The appointments with Frejus were always very exciting ones due to the number and the quality of participants as well as to the huge public which was always present. Three bikers leaving: Paolo Montoya (in the photo), Davide and Massimo Rosa. Montoya, has already return to Costa Rica and, after the excellent month of September, he wanted to leave with the highest notes in report card. The level was very high, 4300 at the departure point, with marathon champion Lakata, Stander, Sauser and th many other great champions participating. At the end of the 54 km th Montoya obtained the 36 position, with 9’ after the winner Lakat and before the champions of the highest level. There arrived also good th nd th results of two Rosa brothers: Davide 35 e 2 among Italians, and Massimo 39 in their categories.
