I was bitten by the travel bug at the age of 10 when my grandmother took me on a cruise to the Bahamas. It was on the Norwegian Caribbean Lines MS Skyward. Oddly enough, I was on the only child on the ship. Boy was I pampered. After a day or two, the chef prepared me a hamburger and fries every night since I didn’t like all that “fancy” food. Well I grew to like that “fancy” food and have been on 30 additional cruises since.

For many years, I’ve been blessed to have my husband and many friends that also love to travel. We cruised mostly and went to all-inclusive resorts at first, but then grew to go beyond Mexico and the Caribbean and have now been to over 45 countries.

Being an experienced traveler and organizer of my group travels, my travel agent (Kim Epperson – former owner of Travel Smart) asked me to join her team, and she would train me about the travel business. That was an offer that I couldn’t pass up.

After 7 years of working from home, then part-time at the agency, Kim decided she wanted to retire and sell the agency. When it was offered to me, I knew this was my dream come true. That was almost 11

years ago. I’m proud to keep the legacy and reputation of Travel Smart going since it was established in 1991. Wow, over 29 years!

The reason we are successful is that our team loves assisting the client and building relationships to create that dream vacation, destination wedding or honeymoon. I encourage everyone on my team to travel and experience the world so that we can pass on first-hand information. We travel together as a group to inspect several resorts at a time to make sure we are suggesting the appropriate resort for our client.

Did you know that when you book directly with a hotel, cruise line, or resort that you are paying the travel agent commission also? If you let your local travel agent book it, the commission is given to the travel agent. It doesn’t cost you more and you are getting someone who is looking out for your best interest, giving expert advice and is available before, during and after your trip. And with our partnership with preferred vendors, sometimes we get better rates or an extra perk that you won’t find on the internet. Being a Breast Cancer Survivor and realizing life can be short, I encourage you to travel and experience this big world we live in! It is amazing!
