Local Business: Little Engine Winery
Dreams don’t come true, dreams are made true.
And so began the journey. A vision to produce a collection of wines that would appeal to astute wine enthusiasts and the most seasoned professionals. Varietals based on terroir with the ability to influence with barrels. Three properties planted in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot mark estate production while Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc make up the balance of the portfolio. A winery dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. We believe our vision of inspiration and dreams result in wines that deliver, inspired by the same dreams.

Our Name
Why Little Engine... Because each and everyone of us has a Little Engine Story. We can all relate to a story of overcoming obstacles and achieving greatness. The children’s fable of the Little Engine personifies will and determination, a winery dedicated to these same pursuits seemed befitting of the same title, and so became Little Engine Wines.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy begins in the vineyard. Precise pruning, canopy management, and cluster thinning. We utilize very low crop tonnage producing fruit with intense concentration. Hand selected fruit combined with minimally-invasive wine making techniques allow for our wine’s pure expression. A combination of natural yeasts, gentle maceration, French oak barrels and attention to every detail, results in wines of depth, character, elegance and finish.

Dip: Create a Silk Scarf at River Stone Estate Winery in Osoyoos with Colour Drop Designs
“Join us at River Stone Estate Winery for a 2-hour silk scarf workshop. We bring the beautiful, ancient art of water marbling to the 21st century by inviting you to be the artist. Come and make your own water marbled silk scarf. Each workshop begins with a demonstration. Then each artist chooses their colours and floats the paint one drop at a time on the surface of the water, then uses marbling combs, rakes, or stylus to create the design of their liking. If you can sprinkle cheese on a pizza, or write your name with a pencil you can make magic with us!
Tickets include all supplies to make your silk scarf and a glass of one of River Stones’ award winning Bordeaux reds.
‘River Stone Estate Winery is a small family owned winery located in Oliver, BC. Producing beautifully crafted award winning aromatic whites and well respected big bold reds. Featured South Okanagan Event: Ultraman Marathon
“The first Ultraman Canada took place in Penticton, BC in 1993 with 8 participants and Tom Price as the winner. In years since only 211 participants (158 male / 53 female) have successfully completed the Canadian version of the three-day challenge.
Under Race Director (and 3 time Ultraman finisher) Brad Sawa Ultraman Canada returned to Penticton in July of 2019 after a four-year hiatus. Impressed with the success of the race and the positive feedback from the competitors, Jane Bockus and the Ultraman Board of Directors agreed to grant a new 5-year Ultraman Canada license to the pair ensuring the longevity of this event.
We are now part of four official and licensed events worldwide. Ultraman Canada, Ultraman Florida and, more recently, Ultraman Arizona. Which means, to be considered for the Ultraman World Championships in Hawaii you must be an official finisher of these listed events.
Whether you are racing, supporting or spectating, we look forward to hosting you in this spectacular part of the world, steeped in triathlon history. We welcome you to Ultraman Canada.”
