Fitness & Beauty Update beauty ARTIST HOLLY SILIUS UNVEILS A STRIKING NEW COLLECTION OF BUSTS DESIGNED FOR KIM KARDASHIAN’S FRAGRANCE LINE

Multidisciplinary artist Holly Silius has unveiled a new series of sculptural busts designed for the new collection Opals by Kim Kardashian’s KKW Fragrance line. The US based British artist has created three casts made out of black and white ultracal stone which capture Kardashian’s iconic figure.

Silius’ KKW commission is the latest development in her fine art career which explores the human form through use of sculpture, body casts, mixed-media photography, 3D printing and wearable art.

Having initially trained as a competitive swimmer and SFX make-up artist at the London College of Fashion, morphology and the human body have always existed at the core of Silius’ art. In 2016, Silius was invited to exhibit at Tate Britain in a group exhibit for “Late at Tate,” a series of interactive workshops and exhibited work. With clients including Prada, Miu Miu, Saint Laurent and Gucci, Silius has established her presence in the industry as an artistic polymath who has gained prestige for her hugely innovative and boundary breaking body sculptures and make-up artistry. Silius’ work finds inspiration both from fine art and works of Rodin as well as experimental fashion designers such as Thierry Mugler. Movement and body remain at the core of Silius’ practice as she carefully threads the path between art, design and fashion through her wearable and non-wearable body pieces, busts and masks that explore the relationship between our materiality and our self. Silius is one of the groundbreaking names in art and fashion working continuously with some of the most prestigious names in her field including Juergen Teller, Hedi Slimane, Ryan McGinley and more. In 2021, she also casted supermodel Miranda Kerr’s lips in stone and acrylic.
