EVO: RAIL-New Infrastructure System by VMware EVO: RAIL is a type of x86server appliance developed by well-known VMware to combine networking, compute and storage resources within hyperactive converged type of infrastructure system. Faculty members of engineering colleges in India said that VMware designed the new server appliance to allow for easy and quick deploying of single virtualization solution for large numbers of small and medium size business enterprises. Main features of EVO: RAIL offered by VMware are functions performed by different types of software, like VSAN, vSphere, vCenter Log Insight and the most important the RAIL engine. Technical experts of engineering colleges in India said that the software plays its major role to administer, configure and enhance the deployment speed of virtual machines as well as hardware from large numbers of VMware partners.
VMware professionals further said that EVO is the abbreviated form of evolution i.e. first of the hyperactive and converged infrastructure offer of the company. On the other side, RAIL implies the rail mount over 2U or 4-node type of server platform. The company and other technological experts have said that each node of EVO: RAIL incorporates about 192GB of memory, 10,000 RPM hard disk drives, solid-state drive of 400GB and dual Ivy Bridge processors. Lastly, the new appliance includes two different 10GB of Ethernet NIC ports at each of its node to perform networking jobs.
