Governor’s Message I am indeed happy to learn that the Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow is bringing out a Compendium comprising of minimum necessary details of the Institutions of Uttar Pradesh Technical University.

Shri Ram Naik Hon'ble Governor Uttar Pradesh Shri Naik was the Cabinet Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas in the Government led by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee from 13th October 1999 to 13th May 2004. After creation of a separate Ministry for Petroleum & Natural Gas in 1963, he has a rare distinction to be the only Petroleum Minister to head the ministry for full ive years. In the earlier Cabinet, he was Minister of State for Railways (Independent Charge), Home Aﬀairs, Planning & Programme Implementation and Parliamentary Aﬀairs (from 13th March 1998 to 13th October 1999), a record number of Ministries indeed at one time! He was a member of BJP National Executive Committee and also the National Convener of 'Good Governance Cell' specially constituted to enhance ef iciency and performance of Ministers in BJP ruled states. Shri Naik decided that he would not contest 2014 Lok Sabha election and would continue to work for BJP sharing his political experience.

Uttar Pradesh Technical University is one of the leading Universities of India providing technical education in diﬀerent disciplines of Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Architecture, Management etc. It is a State University dedicated to provide quality education to the youth coming from diﬀerent parts of the State. The Compendium will serve as a reference document for all stakeholders of Uttar Pradesh Technical University, especially, for the new entrants. The new entrants will be able to take a decision about the discipline and the institution for their higher studies at the time of admission. I wish them success in their endeavours.

Chief Minister’s Message I am happy to know that the UP Technical University, is going to publish a Compendium. UP Technical University is a State University dedicated to provide technical education in various disciplines of Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Architecture, Management etc. to the youth of Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the leading Universities of India serving the society. In fact, it is a welfare state university catering to the needs of society even in remote areas of Uttar Pradesh. The decision to bring out a document having essential details about every institution of the University is laudable. This publication will serve as a reference document for various stakeholders of the University, especially the new entrants and their guardians. I believe that the Compendium will be useful for the new students to choose the right institution as well as appropriate discipline for higher studies. My best wishes for the entire endeavours.

Shri Akhilesh Yadav Hon'ble Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav was born to Mulayam Singh Yadav and Malti Devi on 1 July 1973 in Saifai village, Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. He studied at Dholpur Military School in Dholpur, Rajasthan and subsequently was awarded a degree in environmental engineering while studying in Mysore. He went to Australia to study for a master's degree in the same subject.[3] Akhilesh gives credit to Janeshwar Mishra who initiated him to join politics. Akhilesh Yadav was elected to the Lok Sabha from Kannauj in a byelection of 2000 and retained his seat in the 2004 and 2009 general elections. He was credited for assisting the party's rise from having 97 seats in the 2007 Vidhan Sabha to a total of 224 and was subsequently elected the 20th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh by the party's MLAs. He was at that time the youngest person to have held that of ice, being 38 years old.

Prof. R K Khandal Vice Chancellor, Uttar Pradesh Technical University Prof. R.K. Khandal, a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London and a unanimously elected President for the periods: 2010 to 2012 and 2012 to 2014 of WAITRO (World Association of Industrial & Technological Organizations, which is a UN body, having more than 180 Research & Technological Organizations as its members from 80 countries), took over as Vice–Chancellor of UPTU on September 19, 2012. Prof. Khandal is known for his virtues as a: mentor, teacher, leader, manager, an orator and an innovator. He not only professes the values of Indian culture but he himself practices many of the fundamental principles of humanity and society, while dedicating himself to the cause of technical education, meaningful science and research.
