Generac Engine 062245A 62245A Specifications ADJUSTING VALVE CLEARANCE
1.1.1- TIGHTEN CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS ( see head bolt tightening sequence below )
Always tighten the cylinder head bolts prior to adjusting the valve clearances. Tighten cylinder head bolts in the sequence show in the figure below to the following torque values.
Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Specification Cold head bolts 65 to 72 Ft Lbs Warm head bolts 72 to 80 Ft Lbs
1.Warm up engine until coolant temperature reaches 176 to 194 degrees Fahrenheit
2.At top dead center on compression stroke of each cylinder ( firing order 1-3-4-2), loosen the rocker arm nut and adjust valves to the specified clearance with adjusting screw and feeler gauge. When proper clearance is obtained, prevent the adjusting screw from turning and tighten the rocker arm lock nut.
Valve clearance specifications:
Intake valve clearance, engine warm, 0.006 Inch
Exhaust valve clearance, engine warm, 0.010 Inch
