three local, family-owned farm businesses where participants will be invited to purchase frozen soups, fresh produce, and dairy items for donation. Riders do not need to carry the food with them, as they will simply leave their items in the provided coolers to be shuttled to the food bank. Registration is free, and riders may buy as little or as much food as they like. Due to sections of on-road riding, riders are asked to consider their children’s skill level. After the ride, there will be an afterparty and awards event at noon at 50 E. North St., York. A giveaway drawing will take place, and winners must be present. Cranksgiving York is local spin-off of the national campaign to help those in need for Thanksgiving. In York, the food drive by bicycle will benefit the York County Food Bank’s Give a Meal program. Participants will ride their bicycles to the list of stores provided at registration and purchase the item or items on the list for each store. It is up to the participants to plot the fastest route to as many stores as possible and finish by 11:30 a.m. Riders who go to the most stores in the least amount of time - time bonuses will be available - will be eligible for prizes.
