Dayspring Opens Summer Trip To Community

Randy and Loretta Gehman visited the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Ky.

Dayspring Christian Academy invites families to participate in its Summer Family Trip to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter from Monday, July 11, to Friday, July 15. Stops on the trip will include the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky.; the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Ky.; the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh; the Cincinnati Zoo in Cincinnati, Ohio; and the Flight 93 Memorial in Stoystown.

For many years, Dayspring students have had the opportunity to participate in the annual multi-day field study to the Carnegie Museum, the Creation Museum, and Ark Encounter as a part of Dayspring’s Life Science curriculum. Now the school is extending this opportunity to the community. The program will feature not only museum visits, but also teaching on the motorcoach.

The trip will be led by Dayspring teacher and science department chair Randy Gehman, who has studied the creation versus evolution debate for more than 40 years. Gehman has spoken to thousands of people in schools, churches, and retreats.

The trip is designed for people of middle school age and up, although children as young as 6 have attended. Prices per person include all hotels, motorcoach transportation, admission to the attractions, and breakfasts. For more information or to register, call 717-285-2000 or visit www .mycreationtrip.com.

Dayspring Christian Academy is located at 120 College Ave., Mountville.

Ephrata National Bank Posts Video Contest

Ephrata National Bank (ENB) is accepting submissions for its “Lights, Camera, Save!” video contest, which is organized by the American Bankers Association Foundation. This national competition encourages teens to use video to communicate the value of sound money management and to set their peers on a sound financial path.

“Lights, Camera, Save!” gives local students an opportunity to harness their creativity, learn about using money wisely and communicate those lessons with their peers. ENB believes that a strong financial education is critical to a successful future and the contest reinforces that message.

To participate, students ages 13 to 18 must create a video lasting 30 seconds or less and focused on using money wisely. Students must provide the bank with a link to their video and a completed entry form by Thursday, March 31. The contest is open to filmmakers of all experience levels.

ENB will host the first round of judging and select a winner to compete on the national level for one of three cash prizes. Additionally, the first-place winner will receive a local grand prize from ENB. National contestants will face off head-tohead in the first round of national judging on the American Bankers Association’s Instagram page at www.instagram .com/americanbankersassoc iation, which will determine which videos advance to the second round of national judging.

Videos will be judged on their quality, message and content and the criteria set forth by the contest’s official rules. To learn more about the “Lights, Camera, Save!” contest, visit www .lightscamerasave.com or www .epnb.com/lightscamerasave.
