The spring art exhibit at Crossings Gallery on the campus of Landis Homes will feature the photographs of eight members of the Lancaster Camera Club. Crossings Gallery is located in the Calvin G. and Janet C. High Learning and Wellness Center at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz. The exhibit will be on display through June from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays through Sundays.
The photos on display have a wide variety of content, including the natural world, local and travel scenery and still life. The photographers showing work are Jim Goudie, Don Fry, Don Kautz, Lorraine Light, Bob Newell, Jon Rhodes, Dennis Seibert and Robert Willems.

The Lancaster Camera Club was organized in the early ‘70s by a group of amateur and professional photographers. In addition to the regular meetings, the group offers field trips, photographic events and meetings. Several photographic competitions are held each year; these events are designed to improve the photographic skills of members of all levels and interests. The program, “New and Underrated Annuals” will be presented by Kris Barry of Groff’s Plant Farm. Barry grew up on her family’s farm in Kirkwood, where she developed a love of flowers and plants. She received a degree in biology from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
After college, Barry worked in flower breeding at the Chicago Botanic Garden and Pan American Seed, also in Chicago. When her husband finished medical school, the couple moved to Florida, where Barry received a doctorate in environmental horticulture. After a year in Texas doing cotton research, she moved home to join the family business, Groff’s Plant Farm. She now runs the business with her husband and teaches at Longwood Gardens.

The Goose Creek Boys
The Goose Creek Boys, a traditional gospel bluegrass band, will perform at Fivepointville Bible Conference in northeastern Lancaster County on Saturday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place rain or shine in the enclosed tabernacle located at 528 Chapel Lane, Denver, behind the Fivepointville Fire Company.
The Goose Creek Boys were formed in 1991 and presents music with a message of encouragement at special community events, gospel concerts, fairs, and festivals. Dial Gauge Tests Slated
Penn State Cooperative Extension Lancaster will offer testing of dial gauge pressure canners. These canners need to be checked for accuracy each year. New canners and new gauges should also be tested. Pressure canners with a weighted gauge do not have to be tested for accuracy because they cannot go out of calibration.
Free, in-person testing will be available at two locations. Testing will be performed from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 17, at Good’s Store,
