Giant To Offer Virtual Holiday Cooking Classes

As the holiday season begins, the Giant Company’s team of dietitians is back with a full schedule of festive, free, live classes via Zoom for families and chefs of all ages this November and December.

Classes will include Holiday Produce, set for Mondays at noon. Attendees will explore seasonal produce and all it has to offer. The recipes will include grape and goat cheese crostinis, cranberry brie bites and holly jolly pom salsa.

Wellness Workshops will be held every Monday at 7 p.m. in November. Dietitians will explain how to achieve blood sugar goals in honor of American Diabetes Month. In December, the programs will be about self-care.

Family Meals at 5 will be offered on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. The featured meals, which can be prepared in under 30 minutes, will include vegetable couscous with Moroccan pesto in honor of Kwanzaa, Hanukkah-inspired mini latkes with toppings and hoisin chicken meatballs with peanut noodle sauce.

During Build a Board classes, attendees will learn how to create holiday charcuterie boards on Thursdays at noon in November and on Tuesdays at noon in December. Themed boards, such as the Thanksgiving Breakfast Board or the Mini Board for Santa and Reindeer, will be included.

Better for You Baking classes will teach attendees how to celebrate pie season by creating holiday maple sweetened pecan pie, mini purple sweet potato pies and gingerbread pudding cake with spiced whipped cream. The classes will be held on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in November and on Thursdays at noon in December.

Mini Chef Mornings will be offered on select Saturdays at 10 a.m. in November and December. Children will be invited to create snacks based upon seasonal books in November and classic holiday movies in December. Dishes will include pumpkin pie parfait cups, turkey toast, Grinch blossom cookies and Polar Express frozen hot chocolate.

All classes are free to attend, but advance registration is required for each class at www.thegiant companynutritionists. eventbrite.com. A complete list of all virtual classes and the ingredients needed for each class is also available on the event page. In addition, customers can earn 50 Choice Rewards points when they register, provide their card number and attend the entire class.
