VFW Plans Auction Event

Sponsor and exhibitor reservations are being accepted for local 50plus Expos, which are free events that feature exhibitors, health screenings, seminars, demonstrations, entertainment and door prizes. The 50plus Expos are presented by OLP Events, which also hosts Women’s Expos.

Those who exhibit at the events will be able to generate leads, meet guests face-to-face, sell products, reinforce their brand and network with other exhibitors.

The following 50plus Expo events have been scheduled: Dauphin County - Wednesday, June 9, Harrisburg Hall, 3501 Paxton St., Harrisburg; Lancaster County - Wednesday, June 23, Shady Maple Conference Center, 129 Toddy Drive, East Earl; York County - Thursday, Sept. 23, York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave., York; Lancaster County - Wednesday, Sept. 29, Park City Center, 600 Park City Center, Lancaster; and Cumberland County - Wednesday, Oct. 13, Carlisle Expo Center, 100 K St., Carlisle.

During the 2021 expo event season, exhibitor booths will be distanced, and personal social distancing and other CDC guidelines will be observed.

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary 5752, 125 Longenecker Road, Mount Joy, will host its inaugural auction and basket giveaway drawing on Saturday, May 1, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Auction items will include antiques, collectibles, tins, houseware items, silver, crystal, china and home décor, Creative Memories paper and stickers, American Girl items, and jewelry. Some of the items to be given away in baskets include gift cards, family movie night items, wine glasses and a beverage gift card, and spa items. Food, including homemade baked goods, will be available for purchase. Food trucks will be on-site.

Proceeds will benefit veterans, their families, and community organizations.

A variety of items will be up for bids or given away in baskets during VFW Auxiliary 5752’s fundraiser on Saturday, May 1.

Spring Plant Exchange Set

The 56th annual Spring Plant Exchange will be held at the home of Dan and Bobbi Thomasco, 4912 Bossler Road, Elizabethtown, from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24. Participants are asked to identify and label any plants they bring.

The annual tradition was started in 1965 by Diane Lamb. For more information, call 717-951-6403.
