Fun For All

49th Annual

August 22-27, 2022

The Elizabethtown Fair continued its annual tradition of celebrating community with competitions, exhibits, rides, games, live music and more from Aug. 22 to 27. One highlight of the week was the Fair Queen competition, where Abigail Nissley took the title and Abrianna Nissley was named fair queen alternate. Abigail is the daughter of Jeff and Kendra Nissley. She has grown up and worked on her family’s dairy farm for most of her life. A rising senior at Lower Dauphin High School, she hopes to attend a fouryear university. Abigail is active in both her community and her school, including involvement in her church, Student Council and various honor societies. She raises and has shown cattle, pigs, sheep and goats for her 4-H club and for the Elizabethtown Fair.

On Aug. 24, during Senior Citizen’s Day, Terry Hackman was crowned senior king and Mary Shenk was named senior queen. On Aug. 26, local celebrities joined in the fun with the Celebrity Showmanship competition.
