Library Friends Plan Fundraisers
The Friends of the Adamstown Area Library will hold their basket bingo fundraiser again after a hiatus due to the pandemic.
The event will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Reamstown Fire Company, 12 W. Church St. The doors will open at 12:30 p.m. The advance ticket game will begin at 1:45 p.m., and regular bingo will start at 2 p.m. Prizes will be filled baskets. The event will also include giveaway drawings and special games, and lunch will also be available for purchase.
All profits will benefit the library. Tickets may be purchased at the library, 110 W. Main St., or from any Friends board member. Those who purchase tickets early will be eligible to play the advance ticket game.
The Friends’ Tuesday book sales will continue through Nov. 15. At the request of patrons, the Friends will now offer evening hours on select dates. The book sale will be open on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the exception of Oct. 4, Oct. 18, Nov. 1 and Nov. 15, when the sale
will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Alpha Course Announced
An Alpha Course will be held on Tuesdays from Sept. 27 to Nov. 8 and from Jan. 10 to Feb. 21, 2023, at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland. The course will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in Laurel View and is open to the community.
This 14-session course will consist of 30-minute videos and conversations. Chaplain Karyn Nancarvis will seek to create an openminded space for questions and explorations on life, faith, meaning, and more.
Refreshments will be provided. There is a fee for the workbook, payable at registration. Contact Nancarvis at 717-355-6235 for more information or register with Resident Services at 717-355-6000.
