Turkey Bowl Has A Successful Run On Thanksgiving Morning

More than 400 participants turned out for this year’s Turkey Bowl, held on Thanksgiving morning at Tel Hai Camp and Retreat in Honey Brook.
This year’s runners and walkers were able to enjoy ideal weather conditions while competing in the Turkey Bowl, which included a 5K race, as well as a 1-mile fun run for children. “We had a beautiful morning for our 30th annual Turkey Bowl race. This was probably one of our nicest days in a few years,” said camp director Bruce Gregory.
The top overall male winner of the 5K was Noah Taylor from Mohnton, with a time of 16 minutes, 36 seconds. Taylor also won the top spot in 2019. The top overall 5K female winner was Traci Tempone from Leola, with a time of 20:25. Tempone also claimed the top spot in 2018.
He noted that the youngest registered participant this year was about 3 months old and rode in a stroller, and the oldest was age 80. “In the 1-mile kids’ fun run, we had 63 finishers. We had a good mix of ages, including some very young ones under (age) 5 whose parents ran with them,” noted Gregory. “Hopefully, they will enjoy running and continue running with their families.”
