Caernarvon Historical Society to host Churchtown Day
BY FRANCINE FULTON
The Caernarvon Historical Society will present Churchtown Day, featuring community yard sales along with breakfast and lunch items prepared at the Caernarvon Fire Company, on Saturday, Aug. 5. The event will be held rain or shine.
Yard sales will begin at 7 a.m. on Route 23 in Churchtown, as well as in neighboring communities. “Churchtown Day is a big thing. (People may find) something they really want (or a) treasure,” said Yvonne Styer, historical society president and historian, noting that the Churchtown Day tradition began in 1984. “The only time we did not have it was in 2020 because of the (pandemic).”
Caernarvon Historical Society will also host a flea market at its property, 2148 Main St., Narvon, and at the property next door, at Caernarvon Township Park. “We use the property where the (Caernarvon Elementary) school was and in front of our building,” said Styer, noting that sales will be held both inside and outside the historical society building. “We will See Churchtown Day pg 2

“They did not have a pancake breakfast for the past few years; it is returning this year,” Styer noted. “It was takeout before because of (the pandemic).
