Easter egg hunts frompg 1

For the parents’ Easter egg hunt, select eggs will contain prizes, including gift cards to local restaurants. “Parents have to run through the woods to get eggs like the kids do to be able to win those,” said Pershall, who took over ActionImpact after the passing of his father, Ron, in October of 2021. “That was one of my dad’s ideas.”

The Easter egg hunt will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the hunt will move indoors.

Events on both April 7 and 8 will include a time for attendees to learn about the true meaning of Easter through the use of Resurrection eggs.

“We take some time and go through events that led up to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection,” Pershall explained. “One of our staff will (display) items in the Resurrection eggs.” For example, one of the eggs will contain a coin, which symbolizes the 30 pieces of silver that Judas was given to betray Jesus.

Action-Impact offers weekly meetings for youths year-round. Meetings are held on Friday nights during the school year and on Thursday nights during the summer. “We have 40 to 50 kids on a Thursday or Friday, and we break them into three groupsfifth to six grades, seventh to eighth grades and grades nine to 12,” said Pershall. “It’s a mix of free time, fun and games, and we settle down and spend some time singing, worshiping and learning biblical truths that will help them in their lives. We have kids from all denominations, (those who) have never been to church and everything in between.’

He said that most participants are from the Twin Valley School District, but homeschooled students also attend. “We have a long time where the kids can play basketball or dodgeball or (enjoy) the playground,” Pershall noted. “There is a lot of hanging out and having a good time.” scan this code for more local news townlively.com
