SALT Performing Arts will present “Elf the Musical” in person at the SALT theater, located in the West Pikeland Township Building, 1645 Art School Road, Chester Springs. The show will also be livestreamed.

Performances will be held on Fridays, Dec. 3, 10 and 17, at 7 p.m.; on Saturdays, Dec. 4, 12 and 18, at 2 and 7 p.m.; and on Sundays, Dec. 5, 11 and 19, at 2 p.m.

The show revolves around Buddy, an orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Buddy is initially unaware that he is actually human, but his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

The cast includes the following: Buddy the Elf, Kurt Kunsch; Jovie, Alessandra Fanelli; Walter, Mark Dungan; Emily, Sheryl Jennings; Michael, Zane Zangwill; Deb, Ally Borgstrom; Store Manager, Stephen Fisher; Mrs. Greenway and Mrs. Claus,

Lucky Dawg held a smaller-scale craft show in 2020 at Marchwood Tavern in Exton, but the show is returning to Freedom Village this year as one of the rescue’s largest fundraisers. Admission is free and open to the public.

“For the most part everything is donated, so we get (nearly) 100 percent of sales,” said Lucky Dawg board member Becca Budzik, event organizer. “We also have some outside vendors coming in.”
