1. Eligibility & Entries

A. All steers must be purchased by January 1, 2022. Breeding & preview beef must be purchased by September 1, 2022.

B. Entries are due by September 10, 2022. Please include the $7 per animal cleanup and bedding fee with the Showman app.

C. Cow/calf entries require only one cleanup and bedding fee, unless the calf is also being shown individually in a Heifer or Preview beef class.

D. Market beef must weigh a minimum of 1,000 lbs. to compete and sell.

2. Management Rules

A. Check-In times are Sunday 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. or Monday 7:00 - 9:30 a.m. for KILE exhibitors only. Weigh-In will be 8 P.M. Monday following exhibitor meeting.

B. Please keep your area uncluttered, and your animal well-groomed at all times.

3. Fitting Rules

A. Exhibitors must be present during fitting, clipping, and grooming of their animals.

B. Exhibitors are not required to fit, but it is encouraged. If you choose to fit your animal, you must participate in the process of fitting.

Assistance is permitted. Assistance is defined as a learning situation where the person doing the assisting is teaching the exhibitor a technique in clipping or fitting. This person is allowed to show the exhibitor the proper skill or techniques, and the exhibitor is expected to perform the majority of each technique/skill required. (Exhibitors under the age of 14 may have additional help.)

C. It is strongly recommended that clipping of animals is done ahead of time.

SECTION A-3A - DAIRY BEEF FEEDER STEER Committee: Gary & Judy Zurin, 725 Newcomer Rd., Mount Joy, PA 17552 - 717-653-0143 Gerry Kready, Sandra & Holly Musser Show - Tuesday 2:00 p.m. – Sale - Friday 6:00 p.m.

1. ELIGIBILITY & ENTRIES

A. All calves must be born between between January 1 and February 28, 2022.

B. Calves must be 100% Holstein.

C. Each calf must be ear tagged by 4-H leader or FFA adviser, by July 1, 2022.

D. In addition, a RFID ear tag must be on animal at check-in.

E. A signed ownership form with proof of breed and calf birthdate must be presented at sign in. These forms may be obtained through the 4-H dairy beef club and the Manheim FFA.

F. Must weigh a minimum of 600 lbs. to compete and sell.

2. MANAGEMENT RULES:

A. All calves must be penned 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Sunday. Weigh-in on Sunday night 5:00-7:00 p.m. This weight will be used for the show and sale.

B. All equipment, feed, and show boxes must be store in designated areas.

C. Wheelbarrows and spreader are available for cleanup during Farm Show Week.

D. All animals entered in this show will be sold Friday at 6:00 p.m.

E. Exhibitors are expected to be present during the feeding and grooming of their calf.

F. Penalty for not following these rules will result in the member not being allowed to show their calf in the show. Thus not being able to sell their calf at the sale and will receive the market value.
