Helicopter musuem to host activities

The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC) has decided to focus on more diverse activities this year in lieu of its annual November Gala fundraiser. It has increased its monthly offerings to incorporate a variety of opportunities.

Upcoming events include an ongoing speaker’s series, science-based workshops for children ages 6 through 12 and events like the upcoming FamilyFest on Saturday, June 24; Haunted Helicopters on Saturday, Oct. 28; and SantaFest on Saturday, Dec. 9. Additionally, two weeklong summer camps will offer science demonstrations, hands-on activities and more.

The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center, located at 1220 American Blvd., West Chester, is an aviation museum devoted exclusively to helicopters. Established in 1996, the nonprofit organization collects, restores and displays rotary-wing aircraft, including more than 35 civilian and military helicopters, autogyros and convertiplanes.
