Representatives from the Chester County offices of the sheriff, recorder of deeds and prothonotary recently presented a community collection of school supplies to the Maternal and Child Health Consortium (MCHC) in support of the organization’s back-to-school supplies drive. This year, MCHC will distribute loaded backpacks, tailored to the specific needs of individual students, to more than 600 children in Chester County.

Participants in the presentation of the supplies included Milena Lanz, executive director of MCHC; Natalie Coughlin, Emma Garner, and Briana Villagrana from MCHC; Fredda Maddox, Chester County sheriff; Joni Bommelyn from the Chester County Sheriff’s Office; Kim Bydlon, special projects coordinator with the Recorder of Deeds Office; and Bridget Blewitt and Kristen Hume from the Prothonotary’s Office.

Blessing Of The Animals Planned

St. John’s Episcopal Church, Compass, 1520 W. Kings Highway, Gap, will hold a Blessing of the Animals service on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. The church is located at the intersection of Routes 340 and 10.
