Class is limited to 15 people. “Blacksmithing ... has seen a great resurgence in the last four years, because of television reality shows like ‘Forged in Fire,’” he said. “One of the best ways to get into the hobby is to join an association like PABA, where you can go to meetings and see demonstrations about how to work with metal,” he noted. “The (attendees) will be rubbing elbows and talking with experienced (crafters).” Shultz added that the organization has a lending library that features several hundred volumes of books, DVDs, and periodicals.

Proceeds from the event will help support the Lions Club’s community projects, such as the Pequea Valley High School’s Career Occupational Relevant Education (C.O.R.E.) Program, which teaches trades to students and promotes craftsmanship.

“This is the second time the club is hosting a bazaar. We skipped 2020 because of COVID,” Wenrich said, noting that information will be provided at the event for those interested in joining the Lions Club. “The Lions Club is composed of people who come together to network and to serve the community. We are not open exclusively to businesses. We welcome everyone.”

The Amish Farm and House’s Amish Christmas Cookie Tour will return this season, with tours on Fridays and Saturdays from Friday, Nov. 19, to Saturday, Dec. 18. Tours will depart at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

During the two-hour guided bus tour, participants will visit two or three authentic Amish homes to interact with Amish families and learn about their heritage while sampling homemade cookies. Also included in the ticket price are recipes and cookies to take home and a guided tour of an 1805 farmhouse. There will also be opportunities to purchase more baked goods and handmade Christmas gifts.

Church Plans Movie Night

Pequea Church in White Horse will host a free community movie night at the White Horse Fire Hall, 111 White Horse Road, Gap, on Friday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m. featuring the original “Home Alone.” Admission is free, and free refreshments, including popcorn, will be provided.
