Servant Stage Company’s Youth Theatre will produce Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzerprize winning play “Our Town” at the Magic & Wonder Theater, 3065 Lincoln Highway, Paradise. Shows will take place on Fridays, Jan. 28 and Feb. 4, at 7 p.m.; Saturdays, Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, at 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sundays, Jan. 30 and Feb. 6, at 2 p.m.

Set in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners, N.H., at the turn of the 20th century, this three-act play explores themes of love, legacy, and the simple joys of life. The Youth Theatre production features a cast of 20 teen performers.

“Our Town” is one of two winter youth productions happening in January and February, along with “Matilda Jr.,” an adaptation of the Broadway musical based on Roald Dahl’s classic story. This is the first time that Servant Stage has featured two concurrent winter youth productions, and “Our Town” marks the first straight play to be performed as part of Servant Stage’s Youth Theatre program.

All performances are available by donation as part of Servant Stage’s mission to make performances accessible to everyone in the community. Reservations are required, as shows frequently do sell out. To obtain tickets or see the full list of performances and venues, visit www.ServantStage.org or call 717-455-0255.

Servant Stage Company is a nonprofit theater serving Lancaster County since 2011 and bringing entertainment to over 50,000 audience members each year.

Capital Blue Cross Honored

Capital Blue Cross has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania for the fourth consecutive year, placing 23rd among large companies. According to Capital Blue Cross president and CEO Todd Shamash, the designation is awarded based on employees’ evaluations of the company.

Most Capital Blue Cross employees began working remotely in March 2020 to best ensure their safety and well-being, while a small number of staff continued to work on-site to provide critical support services. As the COVID-19 pandemic evolved, Capital Blue Cross did, too, reinventing the way its employees work. Many now have full-time remote working status, while some have hybrid inoffice/at-home schedules, and a smaller number work full time on-site.

The Best Places to Work rankings were announced on Jan. 6 during a virtual awards ceremony. The annual Best Places to Work list honors 100 total employers, divided into small (15 to 99 employees), medium (100 to 249 employees) and large (250 or more employees) categories.

Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania is a public-private partnership founded by Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management. Capital Blue Cross serves a 21-county region in central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley. Capital Blue Cross is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. For more information, visit www.capbluecross.com.
