SLC Community Choirs will present “Sounds of the Season” on Sunday, Dec. 5, at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Level Road, Quarryville. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m., and the concert will begin at 3 p.m. The Crescendo Choir is a group of more than 30 singers from the Solanco community and beyond who have been rehearsing together since mid-September.

The concert is free of charge, but donations will be accepted at the door to benefit Solanco Neighborhood Ministries.

Holiday Greens Workshop Planned

The Women’s Garden Club of Lancaster County will sponsor a make-and-take holiday greens workshop on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 301 St. Thomas Road, Lancaster.

Included in the fee for nonmembers will be instructions for wreath or centerpiece making, greens, supplies and accessories. Participants should bring their own clippers and gloves. Space is limited to 10 guests. CDC guidelines will be followed.

Conference Explores Fundraising

The Pennsylvania Treasury has advised state residents that scammers are using fraudulent text messages to target recipients of unemployment compensation benefits, potentially including normal unemployment compensation (UC), Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC).

One message inaccurately tells recipients that their state-issued ReliaCard account has been temporarily frozen. The message then encourages recipients to clink on a link to verify their identity and card status. Individuals should not click on the link. Neither the Pennsylvania Treasury nor the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry ever embed a link in a text message. Any text that includes a link and claims to be from these agencies should not be trusted.

Individuals should note that it is important to never provide any personally identifiable information, user IDs, or passwords unless they initiated the conversation by contacting the agency directly.

The Christmas Spirit Light Show in Lancaster is a drive-through light display that is synchronized to Christmas music.

The community is invited to attend the Christmas Spirit Light Show, a milelong, drivethrough show with smart technology LED lights synchronized to Christmas music. The show, which is located at the Barnstormers’ stadium, 650 Prince St., Lancaster, will run from Saturday, Nov. 27, through Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022. The display will be closed on select dates.

The family attraction, which has operated for the past five years, was created by Yana and Chris Brink of Middletown.

Tickets are priced per vehicle and can be purchased in person or at www.Christmas SpiritLights.com. Concessions will be available for purchase on the weekends.

A portion of proceeds will be donated to the local nonprofit Community Action Partnership, an anti-poverty organization based in Lancaster.
