Truist has become a key partner in the YMCA’s work to improve the lives of everyone in the York and Lancaster communities, especially newcomers to the area and those experiencing financial insecurity.

The current partnership between the YMCA of the Roses and Truist began in 2021 with a $10,000 grant to the YMCA’s New American Welcome Center, which works with immigrants and newcomers in York and Lancaster counties to give them the support and resources they need to thrive in their new homes. The partnership is continuing in 2022 by way of Truist’s $50,000 donation through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) to the YMCA’s New American Welcome Center to empower all individuals facing financial hardships.

In addition, leadership from Truist is serving on the YMCA’s Diversity, Inclusion and Globalization Committee to ensure the YMCA’s policies and operations are inclusive and welcoming for all. Truist’s team is working with the YMCA’s staff to conduct workshops on relevant topics, including virtual banking, identity protection, budgeting and entrepreneurship. YMCA branches across York and Lancaster counties will host these workshops for newcomers, older adults and general community members free of charge.

LOHF Announces Name Change

For 20 years, Lancaster Osteopathic Health Foundation (LOHF) worked to make an impact in Lancaster County, to build partnerships, and to champion youth mental wellness as a force for good. LOHF now has a new name, which is intended to give the organization a new focal point as it continues its mission of serving the community. LOHF has become Touchstone Foundation, Youth Mental Wellness Partners.

The Touchstone Foundation aims to continue to improve the quality and capacity of youth mental wellness with programs throughout the community, to help create new resources with funding, and to continue to help existing ones succeed. Touchstone connects the community to mental health resources through programs like mental health copay assistance, grants, and the clinical supervision collaborative.

COBYS Family Services will offer three resource family information sessions. A virtual session will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1. In-person sessions will be available at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 7, and at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15. The inperson sessions will be held at the COBYS Murry Hill Center office, 444 Murry Hill Circle, Lancaster.

The information sessions are designed for families that want to learn more about foster care and adoption through foster care. During each two-hour program, families will receive an introduction to the roles, expectations, and approval process for COBYS resource families.
