Beards For Brothers Fundraiser Held Faulkner Chevrolet joined local Lancaster County police departments and first responders in November to support the 2019 Beards for Brothers campaign. The campaign was started by Officer Bill Watt of West Hempfield Township. Each year, officers select a first responder or organization from the community who is currently battling cancer or provides care to those battling cancer. This year, the Beards for Brothers campaign raised money for Police Sgt. Harold E. Gainer Jr., who retired after 25 years of service in East Hempfield Township. He also served two years in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country with distinction fighting in the Vietnam War. In January of this year, he was diagnosed with a form of leukemia. Also supported through the fundraiser was Andrew Etman, an EMT volunteer and firefighter, was diagnosed over the summer with stage 4 diffused large B-cell non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Along with Faulkner Chevrolet staff

Penn State Extension trial gardens director Sinclair Adam will present a program on “Hybrid Plants at the Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz, on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. Adam, a Penn State Extension horticulture educator and trial gardens director, will provide suggestions and insights about new hybrid plants based on the findings of the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC), a Penn State research and demonstration farm in Manheim. Penn State has trialed flowers since 1933, and the trials were moved from State College to Manheim in 1992. Perennials were added to the trials in 2014;

Faulkner Chevrolet helped spearhead a campaign, alongside Faulkner BMW, in conjunction with The Salvation Army to bring Christmas cheer to 75 children throughout Lancaster County. It was the first collaboration between the two Faulkner dealerships and the local Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. The Angel Tree Program is an annual event. Children ages of 2 to 18 can request gifts, and the Lancaster community supports the efforts to grant their wishes. Children provide their size for a new jacket and request hats, gloves, and scarves to keep them warm during the winter months. Requested toys include crafts, board games, dolls, stuffed animals, and more. The goal is for donors to give what they are able and bring joy to children during the holiday season. Faulkner Chevrolet general manager Chad Berger organized the dealerships’ participation in the project.
