DEAR ENJOPRENEUR IT IS TIME TO RAISE A MONUMENT Johannes Engl at Synergy 2019 in Tyrol

Pride is starting to grow. In our thoughts, words, faces. Pride in a unique product, in a common vision built on strong values and in a business, that is amazing and can be shared with everyone.

“HOW DOES IT FEEL, BEING PROUD OF YOURSELF?”

Each time you let others take part in your pride in yourself, in ENJO and your ENJOlife, you figuratively set up a monument for ENJO. Let’s raise this monument together and grow through our passion for ENJO and through the stories we can experience thanks to ENJO. Yours

Pride is one of the strongest feelings. A feeling, connected to great satisfaction, assurance and gratitude. And pride can do even more: it sets free an incredible amount of energy. It lets us believe in our own magnificence and unites us with our companions. How amazing that ENJO is a company we can be proud of.

DISTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR 2018 The award “Distributor of the Year“ is handed to Distributors who live the ENJO philosophy with great devotion with their ENJOpreneurs. ENJO AUSTRIA EAST It all started with a big vision and a small office in the garage. 26 years ago Birgith and Siegfried Zack made their dream of a sustainable business that focuses on people come true and founded ENJO Austria East. Strong in decision making, self-confident, courageous and unwavering, they brought a revolutionary product to the market in Austria’s east: a fibre that cleans with water only! Soon they were able to inspire a team of dedicated ENJOpreneurs to make ENJO a well-known and successful Austrian brand.

Our Winners (from left to right): Sally Steele, Christa Reischer, Helene Zechner, Renate Grießer, ENJO Austria East, Top 3 Distributors

HALL OF FAME 2019 The Friedrich Engl Award is handed to people who have made a substantial contribution to the worldwide ENJO family – honest, brave and high-value. RENATE GRIESSER, AUSTRIA WEST Queen of hearts and trump card in one, that‘s Renate. Since 1992 Renate and her husband Walter have been making the west of Austria an ENJOpure island. And successfully! No other ENJO Distributor has been growing so consistently as our market in Austria’s West. Thanks to the best gardener in the world: Renate sows, waters and cultivates our ENJO vision. With a clear view, commitment and heart, because nothing brings a bigger smile to Renate’s face than the success of others. The appreciation for her employees, ENJOpreneurs and Leaders can be felt and experienced every day when being around Renate. Together with Walter, she accompanies, advises and leads her committed office & warehouse team, as well as her loyal Leaders. Renate doesn‘t need a big stage to present herself but likes to stay in the background and to skilfully hold the reigns in her hand. In addition to the great success in business life, our new member of the Hall of Fame also enjoys her private life. Renate spends her time with family and granddaughter, a large circle of friends, hobbies and in her hut in the beautiful Tyrolean mountains. She is living proof that a fulfilling ENJOlife is possible also as a Distributor. Renate, the whole ENJO family thanks you for your big heart, your strong loyalty and your appreciative personality!

A long and successful journey, which Birgith and Siegfried can now celebrate together. But they want more! Two years ago, our Distributors from Austria East were at a crossroad and forced to make a decision: They had to move out of their office incl. warehouse, and their children decided not to continue with the ENJO business. Instead of going into well-deserved retirement, the two ENJO pioneers were clear in their decision: That was not all! ENJO can do more and we will prove it together with our team! They were taking positive steps to move offices and to focus on the support, further education and personality growth of their ENJOpreneurs. This commitment and great passion of our “Distributor of the Year“ has paid off: in 2018 ENJO Austria East was very succsesful and today can be more than ENJOproud of their strong team and their loyal ENJOpure customers. The entire ENJO family says thank you - for your faith in ENJO and your honest, courageous and valuable contribution to our common vision!

CHRISTA REISCHER TEAM LEADER FROM AUSTRIA

Christa Reischer was on stage twice at the Gala Evening 2019 in Tyrol: as nominee for the ENJOheart Recruiter Award and for the ENJOheart Rookie Leader. And then the big moment: With great applause Christa was named ENJOheart Rookie Leader 2018 and celebrated by the worldwide ENJO family. “TO ME, AN OPEN-MINDED APPROACH AND SOME INGENUOUSNESS ARE INDISPENSABLE.” Christa Reischer

about her tasks as Team Leader.

OUR MOTTO FOR 2019 IS ENJOPROUD. WHY DOES ENJO MAKE YOU PROUD? For one thing, it makes me proud to work with an Austrian company. For another, I share so many happy, wonderful moments with my team, ENJO International and also with Birgith and Sigi. I am truly proud that there are so many warm-hearted people in my life! HOW WERE YOU FEELING WHEN YOU WERE ANNOUNCED AS THE WINNER OF THE ENJOHEART AWARD AT THE GALA EVENING IN TYROL? In the first moment the earth stood still for me, I did not dare to breathe! I watched the girls around me and noticed that nobody next to me was jumping with joy. Yet the girls at my table were very excited. Then I heard my name. Today for the third time... sooooo many confused thoughts in my head! Me? Is it really true? Incredible! I made it on my own! WHAT QUALITIES DOES A GOOD LEADER NEED? For me this is very easy to answer. A good Leader has a clear goal in mind, is enthusiastic about what she/he is doing and knows what to do. You have to have the right people to ask about what you don’t know. A good Leader is a courageous pioneer... only if I know how to get up the mountain can I show it to others! She/he is a good listener and responds to the ENJOpreneurs needs. According to the motto “a chain is as strong as its weakest link”. To me, an open-minded approach and some ingenuousness are indispensable.

“IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME I WOULD BE MORE SINGLE-MINDED AND CLEAR IN WHAT I WANT AND DO.”

Christa Reischer about her initial engagement as a Leader. LOOKING BACK AT YOUR EARLY DAYS AS A LEADER, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY TODAY? Quite simply, I would be more direct, clearer in what I want and do and without talking around the bush. WHAT DISTINGUISHES A SUCCESSFUL TEAM? I think team spirit is very important, together we are strong. As well, with skill and patience, the weaknesses of each individual can become strengths. Personal growth is part of it, and of course everyone needs tasks and their place in the team. It is also important that everyone communicates on the same level; no one is better or worse! WHEN ARE YOU PROUD OF SOMEONE ELSE? There are many possibilities! When someone looks outside the box and discovers new opportunities. A set goal is reached, and that is sometimes a big challenge for that person. When my grandson successfully tackles an almost unsolvable task. National pride is also part of it. WHAT WOULD YOU DO TODAY IF ENJO DIDN‘T EXIST? I don‘t like to be reminded of that. I would still be unhappy doing my warehouse and office work. Wouldn’t have seen so many beautiful places in the world. Wouldn’t have met so many dear people and certainly wouldn’t have become the person that I am today.

WHAT ARE THE THREE BIGGEST MILESTONES IN YOUR ENJOLIFE? First of all the decision to become an ENJOpreneur... I was very courageous at that time and followed my gut feeling! Then moving away from home, following my heart to live in a completely different part of the country; after all ENJO is needed everywhere! To do the right thing and answer Sigi‘s question with YES: “Do you want to be a Team Leader?” WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR 2019? • Definitely attending Synergy 2020 with three new girls in my team. • Help my girls to come with me to Costa Rica. • Keep my turnover constant between EUR 7,000 and 8,000.

CHRISTA REISCHER (51) Family: partner Peter, daughter Sabrina (31), son David (30), grand-children Fabian (12) and Marie (3) With ENJO since: April 2011 I’m addicted to: chocolate and to achieve the goals I set myself!

“I FEEL LIKE AN ECO WARRIOR AND A HEALER.”

Sally Steele is proud of her Enjolife and what she can do for her community and the environment.

SALLY STEELE TEAM LEADER FROM AUSTRALIA In January 2019, Sally was awarded the ENJOheart Recruiter 2018 award. The vivid Australian convinced everyone with her hearty and inspiring character, with which she leads her team successfully and can be proud of the great number of recruits. In the past two years Sally added 18 qualified ENJOpreneurs to her team.

OUR THEME OF 2019 IS ENJOPROUD. WHY DOES YOUR ENJOLIFE MAKE YOU PROUD? I love the self satisfaction of helping people do something that is pretty boring and mundane but just has to be done so why not do it more quickly and effectively. Of course the benefit to the environment that comes with that is huge to me. I feel like an eco warrior at every Demo. PLUS, I feel like a healer. When someone tells me that their child’s eczema or asthma has cleared up as a result of just changing the way they clean. That is hugely self satisfying.

HOW DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO WIN THE ENJOHEART RECRUITER AWARD? Absolutely incredible. Im so proud because I love sharing the business and to be recognized in this way is huge. WHY DO YOU LOVE TO RECRUIT? I like to see people succeed. Again that is a great source of self satisfaction, but also it‘s a bigger picture thing for me. I really want to create a whole army of people that can help this busy city that I live in to just reduce some waste and save some time and of course money in the process. So the more people sharing that message the better the infiltration of ENJO. PLUS I’m not going to lie. I also recruit to achieve festivals!! WHEN, WHERE AND HOW DO YOU OFFER THE JOB OPPORTUNITY? All the time. At the beginning and end of each Demo. During Host coaching, during the post Demo thank you dialogue, but mostly on the phone during care calls. I don‘t pretend that I’m not asking the question. I’m very specific about it. WHAT IS YOUR RECRUITING SECRET? To NOT actually ask “would you like to start your own business” but instead TO ask “Would you like some more information about how an ENJO business can work for you”. It‘s the difference between a YES / NO question and one that makes you thinking and interested, which is what you want. Also, to identify 1 person at every Demo (it’s often the Host but not always), and call them the day after and say “I couldn’t stop thinking about you as I think you’d be really great at doing this, would you like some information about how an ENJO business can work?” Then take the call from there depending on what they say. The follow-up up is incredibly important. I once found out 6 months later that someone I was speaking to about the business had then joined Tupperware. I vowed not to let that happen again.

Clean

Enjopeople

The big secret is to ask. Sometimes you get lucky and someone approaches you asking about the business, and if you‘ve done the right thing mentioning it during the Demo then that is more likely, but mostly you need to plant the seed first. WHY DO PEOPLE JOIN ENJO? Lots of reasons. And that‘s important to remember when recruiting. Not everyone will do it for the same reason you did. Time with kids, money, travel opportunities, self development, to make a difference to the planet. They are all great reasons and often its all of the above but you need to listen to what’s important to the potential new business owner. Not just talk at them… LISTEN. You have 2 ears and 1 mouth and you need to use them in those proportions.

“MY RECRUITING SECRET? IT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A YES / NO QUESTION AND ONE THAT BECOMES A DISCUSSION WHICH IS WHAT YOU WANT.” Sally Steele about

offering the job opportunity.

WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION OF YOUR ENJOLIFE? Stepping back into management. I had been a Team Leader for 3 years, then for the next 3 years I was back at my other job, which I love but which isn’t very family friendly hours. I was still doing ENJO but not so much. So the decision to step back up which I took 7 years ago was a great decision.

SALLY STEELE (47) Family: married to Tristan, 3 girls Bonnie (18), Olive (16), Gidget (13) With ENJO since: 2006

WHAT WAS THE GREATEST CHALLENGE IN YOUR LIFE? Raising 3 teenage girls!!! I’ve had other tough personal times but the relentlessness of parenting that‘s definitely the greatest challenge.

Your greatest talent: Too many to list! No really I am a costume maker and a creative.

Enjopeople

With her love and loyalty to ENJO, our ENJOheart Leader 2018 is a role model for the whole ENJO family. For more than two decades Helene has been making many homes in Austria ENJOpure, and at the same time she looks after a great team of successful ENJOpreneurs.

WHY DOES YOUR TEAM MAKE YOU PROUD? My team consists primarily of long-time ENJOpreneurs. Openness and trust are a solid basis for our good cooperation. Together we were able to achieve great success. WHAT IS THE KEY TO SUCCESSFULLY LEADING A TEAM? Everyone in the team is equal. I take everyone as they are. If someone needs support, I am there for them.

HELENE ZECHNER TEAM LEADER FROM AUSTRIA

WHAT DID YOU LEARN IN YOUR ROLE AS A LEADER? From the beginning my vision has been to make the ENJO products known, to build a team and to be successful with them by working independently. Planning and organisation are an important part of my daily work. I prepare myself for the next day the evening before and take notes. In this way I keep my head clear. WHAT TIPS DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHER LEADERS? The most important thing is to stand 100% behind the product and to believe in oneself. I support my ENJO colleagues with profound specialist knowledge (not only concerning the products), as well as my many years of experience with converting households.

“I WAS ABLE TO TURN MY VOCATION INTO A PROFESSION.” Helene looks proudly on her

career at Enjo.

HOW HAS ENJO CHANGED YOUR LIFE? Managing my time freely, I was able to control my income by working independently. If you want to achieve something, you have to do something for it. By working for ENJO I experienced personal growth and was able to develop my abilities to the full. Participating in many international meetings (Synergy) I have seen a lot of the world and got to know interesting people.

Clean

Enjopeople

“PLANNING AND ORGANISING ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF MY DAILY WORK.”

Helene Zechner knows what to do to be able to relax in her free time.

WHAT HAS MOST SHAPED YOUR LIFE? My family - since a few years I am also a happy grandmother, and there is enough time left to spend with my two grandchildren. I was able to turn my vocation into a profession: selling, communicating and meeting many different people is easy for me. HELENE, YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR ENJO FOR MANY YEARS. HOW HAVE CUSTOMERS AND ENJOPRENEURS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS? Increasing environmental awareness and media reports have resulted in customers being more open for the ENJO cleaning system (creating ENJOpure Homes) and better recognizing the benefits for themselves (water savings, time...), which is an advantage. The fact that ENJO today is widely known facilitates the ENJOpreneurs making the first customer contact.

WHAT WAS YOUR BEST ENJO EXPERIENCE? The awards “Hall of Fame Austria” and “Hall of Fame International” in the Dominican Republic as well as the ENJOheart Award in Tyrol. WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR IN YOUR LIFE? For my children, who have supported my work from the beginning, my grandchildren, who enrich my life very much, my health, my ENJO work, which still gives me pleasure, my ENJO colleagues, with whom I achieve very good results, for the opportunity to travel the whole world thanks to my work (Synergy).

HELENE ZECHNER (68) Family: children Sandra (45), Jürgen (39) and Bernd (36), grandchildren Lara (4) and Oskar (2) With ENJO since: 1993

I wish all ENJOpreneurs much success and the awareness that we can all work FOR Mother Earth and not AGAINST her - for the future of our children and grandchildre.

Hobbies: reading, travelling, ENJO

Enjobusiness FIBRE REFRESH MAY I SHOW YOU HOW A NEW ONE CAN DO THIS? Customers love making their home an ENJOpure Island thanks to ENJO. In order to keep it perfectly clean, we as ENJOpreneurs have to act. Because after three years, the ENJOtex Fibre loses more than half of its cleaning performance. It’s about time for a fibre refresh!

One of the most important signs of our ENJOtex Fibre’s quality is its long service life. The basics of this promise are our high-quality raw material and high attention to detail in every step of the production process, from the unique processing technology to the manual fabrication and final inspection. Our customers can be sure that their home will be hygienically clean for three years with ENJO. After this period, the ENJOtex Fibre loses some of its cleaning performance quickly. According to a study, only 44% of an ENJO product’s cleaning performance remains after four years. WHY FIBRE REFRESH? We promise our customers that with ENJO products their home will be spotlessly clean quickly and easily.

A fibre refresh guarantees: • Happy and satisfied customers who can rely on us • Perfect cleaning performance of the ENJOtex Fibre • Fast cleaning (with old fibres it takes more time to clean surfaces) • A hygienically clean home for our customers TRY IT YOURSELF Do you know the sentence: “My ENJO products still work perfectly, I don’t need new fibres”? When you clean your home with ENJO, you don’t even notice how the cleaning performance slowly decreases. The customer usually only sees the loss of cleaning power when she/he gets to compare the performances of a new and an old fibre. Another challenge is that many ENJOtex Fibres don’t look much different after the third year. All the more important it is to tell your customers about the decrease in cleaning performance. Only customers with ENJO products that actually work well are happy ENJO customers. WHEN IS IT TIME FOR A FIBRE REFRESH? How long an ENJOtex Fibre cleans hygienically clean depends on many factors: How often is the product used? What is it used for and how severe is the soiling? Is the product only used with water and now and then with our Helpers or are harsh chemicals used as well? We know that finding the right time for the fibre refresh is not as easy as it seems. Therefore, it needs to be considered individually.

When the ENJOtex Fibres are new, the fibre strands

After three years, the ENJOtex fibre strands are dulled. Therefore,

reach into the surfaces’ deep pores.

they don’t reach into the surfaces’ deep pores.

Clean

OPTICAL INSPECTION Severe wear (plain spots) and/or low volume (light, thin) are a reliable indicator for products that should be replaced.

Another obvious indication that the fibre should be replaced is a brittle flap on a Floor Fibre. This is a sign that the Floor Fibre has been strained heavily.

Flap of a Floor Fibre 2 years old

Flap of a Floor Fibre 3 years old

Flap of a Floor Fibre 4 years old

THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA CAN HELP YOU MAKE A DECISION 1. AGE ENJOtex Fibres of product generation 4 (binding and label yellow) are more than 3 years old and should be replaced. A tip for new ENJOpreneurs: products of generation 4 can be identified by looking at the label. They don’t have a colour indicator. Dust and Polishing fibres are an exception. Applied correctly, they can last up to 5 years. 2. OPTICAL INSPECTION Severe wear (plain spots), low volume (light, thin) and/or brittle flaps of the Floor Fibre are a reliable indicator for products that should be replaced. Note: Many ENJO products that are 3 years old don’t look much different, even if their cleaning performance has decreased significantly.

3. COMPARATIVE CLEANING A new ENJOtex Fibre cleans noticeably better than an old one. Let your customer clean a surface with the old fibre and then with a new one. You’ll have a guaranteed wow effect and your customers will happily replace their old products with new ones. 4. COLOUR INDICATOR Only ENJO has it! The colour indicator on the label shows when the ENJOtex Fibre has lost its cleaning performance. Mention the colour indicator at every Demo and ask your customers whether they notice the colour change on their product’s indicator. Find more information about the colour indicator in the fact box. IMPORTANT STEPS OF THE FIBRE REFRESH 1. Tell your customer honestly and bravely from the beginning that the cleaning performance of the ENJO products will last three years. You can also compare it to car tyres. After a certain number of kilometres, they are also worn out and have to be replaced.

How long does my ENJO product clean hygienically? Cleaning tests confirm – depending on application, area and frequency of use – the ENJO Fibre has an optimum cleaning performance for three years. After this time, the cleaning power decreases strongly. After the 4th year the cleaning performance has dropped to 44%. Therefore we recommend to replace the fibres after 3 years.

THIS IS HOW OFTEN THE ENJO PRODUCT WAS USED AND WASHED IN THE WASHING MACHINE.

ONLY ENJO HAS THIS: OUR COLOUR INDICATOR

The colour indicator is a great service for our customers and only ENJO has it. The indicator on the label shows when the ENJOtex Fibre has lost its cleaning performance.

Label before use: colour of test field and wear indication field differ clearly.

IT ALSO DEPENDS ON THE WAY YOU WASH IT Different washing detergents, washing machines, washing temperatures and also everything that happens with the product between washing has an effect on the colour indication. Therefore, the colour strips only serve as parameter. WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN WASHINGS? How much pressure does the customer apply when cleaning? Does the customer use harsh chemicals or scouring agents? Does she/ he clean rough surfaces and very strong soiling? As a parallel, we use car tyres. How many kilometres can you drive with a set of tyres (service life of tyres)? An expert on tyres will tell you that it is very difficult to answer this question generally because it depends on the type of driving (motorway, city traffic, sporty driving style).

THE BASICS OF THE COLOUR INDICATOR

Label of worn out product: Colour of test field and wear indication field have approximated.

200 WASHINGS The colour indicator reacts to washings. This means that after 200 washings, the two colours have approximated.

DIFFERENT WASHING TEMPERATURES Our study on customers’ washing behaviour shows that the fibres are washed in the washing machine between 40 and 60°C and not always at 60°C. The fading of the colour indicator therefore varies when talking about 200 washings.

OLD BECOMES NEW What happens with the old ENJO products? Even when our products' service life comes to an end we make sure everything is eco-friendly. We have our old ENJO products recycled professionally so the fibres are made into insulation material, filling material for car seats and upholstery or sheets used in agriculture. WHY DO WE ADDRESS THE TOPIC OF FIBRE REFRESH ENJOPROUDLY? Because we keep our promises and with the fibre refresh make sure that our customers clean their home quickly, easily and hygienically with ENJO products. As nothing makes a day better than the smile of a happy customer.

THE COLOUR INDICATOR IS SENSITIVE Which is the whole purpose of it, but this also means that some parameters have strong influence on the indicator, like washing at 90°C, detergents containing bleach etc. According to the colour indicator, a product is already worn out after 5 washings at 90°C.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME AS AN ENJOPRENEUR? The colour indicator is a great aid in evaluating the current cleaning performance. However, no decision can be made relying on the colour indicator alone as various parameters have effects on the colour indicator. For this reason, you need to include the other three criteria (age, optical inspection and comparative cleaning) to make a statement about an ENJO fibre’s cleaning performance. 200 washings at 40°C (top) 100 washings at 40°C & 100 washings at 60°C (middle) 200 washings at 60°C (bottom)

COLOUR INDICATOR AND WARRANTY The colour indicator has no effect on product warranty.

FRESH STYLES FOR YOUR TERRACE In many countries terraces have become an expansion of living space – a place to spend quality time with your family, have a barbecue or just enjoy nature. Therefore, great importance is given to the design of the terrace. When it comes to choosing materials for the terrace, there are reams of variations available. Which types of terraces will you see at your next Demo and how are they cleaned?

These are common categories of materials used for terraces, which I will present to you: • Real wood • WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) • Real stone • Concrete and cast stone • Outdoor tiles

CLASSIC DECKS: REAL WOOD Timber is a traditional material with a cosy, warm charisma. When you use high-quality decking and take good care of the wood, it shows great durability and is quite easy to lay as planks or tiles. European wood like ash tree, pine or larch are perfect for terraces. Decking made from tropical hardwood like Bangkirai, Sapelli, Ipe or Bamboo looks very elegant and is very pleasant to walk on. THE BEST OF SYNTHETIC MATERIAL AND WOOD: WPC WPC is made of plastic and wood fibres, which (depending on the brand) might be recyclable. The advantages of both materials are combined. Therefore, decking made from WPC are extremely durable and low-maintenance, their surface resembling the feel of real wood. You can even buy WPC tiles for your balcony or convenient

systems using connecting hooks from WPC – an easy-care, longlasting and nearly as beautiful alternative to timber. NO TERRACE LIKE THE OTHER: REAL STONE Granite, sandstone, porphyry, travertine or quartzite – a terrace made from real stone is always something special because every stone is one of a kind. Natural stone has the classic, timeless beauty to commend it. Depending on the density of the stone, they are close to indestructible (e.g. granite) or may age quite quickly (e.g. sandstone). For a pleasant feel the flags should be as even as possible. THE COST-EFFICIENT ALTERNATIVE: CONCRETE AND CAST STONE Concrete and cast stone are offered with an even concrete look or

as imitation of natural stone. It is quite low-priced because it is an industrial product. LOW-MAINTENANCE AND VERY DURABLE: OUTDOOR TILES A terrace with ceramic tiles is very easy-care and available in many colours. Ceramic tiles can be cleaned very easily and are long-lived but might be slippery when wet. In order to make sure the tiles are frost-proof, a stable fundament and professional tiling is required. HOW CAN I CLEAN THE TERRACE WITH ENJO? Cleaning can be so easy! With our Floorcleaner and the suitable Floor Fibre, every terrace will gleam in new splendour. Check the fact box to see which of our Floor Fibres is ideal for which material and how each type of decking is cleaned with ENJO.

Enjopure Life SAVE THE BEES HOW TO MAKE YOUR GARDEN OR BALCONY POLLINATOR-FRIENDLY In many parts of the world, the population of bees and other pollinators is in rapid decline. The reasons include modern agricultural techniques, the spread of cities, and the loss of natural habitat such as wildflower meadows. This is alarming because bees provide a vital service by pollinating the plants that produce much of the food we eat. By making your garden or even balcony a bee-friendly space you can do your part to counter this trend. Besides providing shallow water and shelter for the bees, the choice of plants is also important. If you want to offer pollen and nectar for pollinators from spring to autumn, include early blooming plants as well as late blooming ones. EARLY BLOOMERS Crocus: Spring blooming crocuses provide one of the first pollen sources of the year when not many other plants are available Fruit trees: e.g. apple trees are magnets for bees. And just imagine making apple strudel with apples from your own garden… (recipe available on request J) SUMMER Borage: its nectar is particularly rich in energy Catnip: enjoyed by bees for their flower spikes because they can move between them quickly LATE BLOOMERS Aster: especially appealing to pollinators because of their user-friendly floral structure Cornflower: beautiful edible blossoms, bloom until late autumn Some of these plants are also perfectly suitable for balconies but if you’re looking for something more “useful” we recommend bee-friendly herbs as a win-win alternative. Rosemary blooms early in spring, sage even all summer long and nasturtium, which is great for salads, helps feed the bees until the end of September. Whichever way you decide to help the bees, we wish you a lot of fun doing it!

At our Head Office in Vorarlberg (Austria) we have a wildflower meadow with a wide variety of colourful flowers which provide bees and butterflies with nectar from early spring until late autumn.
