PICKENS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Pickens County School District [PCSD] welcomes approximately 4,200 students each year and serves prekindergarten [Pre-K] through grade twelve. There are six schools— three elementary, one middle, one junior high, and one high school. Pre-K classes are available at one elementary school. The district focuses on four primary areas that encompass its goals:

• Maintain high-performing, accountable, and engaging school environments for all learners • Grow and strengthen community partnerships • Efficiently manage the overall operation of the district • Support the growth and health of students while providing a safe environment in which they can learn

PCSD recognizes the important role that community stakeholders—families, businesses, higher education institutions, and residentsat-large—have when it comes to providing quality learning experiences for children. The district operates with a continuous improvement mindset by envisioning, planning, implementing, and evaluating its work in the pursuit of educational excellence.

 HARMONY ELEMENTARY

Harmony Elementary School [HES] is a kindergarten through fourth grade school serving just over 500 students. HES places a strong emphasis on academics while also focusing on fostering the development of relationships with others, self-identity, emotional skills, and the overall well-being of its learners.
