DISCONNECT is the result of a long creative process based on both physical and psychological development, a journey into the depths of the human psyche told through dance. From the ladies who brought you I Am What I Am Not, Unbearable, Reft, and Reft II comes CodRosso's next exploration of the most intimate corners of the human experience. DISCONNECT will take you on a very unique ride, following the delicately woven story of six women who are searching for each other while searching for their own identities in the cold desolation of the modern age. Through performance, Codice Rosso aims to pose a number of questions: What do we really know about ourselves? What happens when we can no longer find each other? In a world that can feel so cold and dark, how do we find the light in other people? Being an international ensemble of female artists--including dancers from Italy, Japan, and the United States--we use our immensely diverse technical backgrounds and personal stories to answer these questions through a rather unique, multi-cultural lens.

ABOUT THE COMPANY: Codice Rosso Theatre is an international contemporary dance theater company based in New York City founded by Artistic Directors, Gessica Paperini and Valentina Priolo. Our vision is derived from human behavior and everyday life in current culture, constantly looking for a personal style challenging the traditional norms of theater and dance. We believe that movement has no boundaries and that is an amazing medium to transmit emotions from the stage to the spectator. Our work is built from multidisciplinary approaches combining dance, theater, music, costume, and video. CodRosso comes from a state of emergency, the need to convey a deep sense of unease. The desire for inner exploration and the urgency to communicate with others are the foundation. Connections, society, physicality, irrationality, critical sense of movement. The result is hugely emotional, dynamic, and sometimes even violent.
