Devmark Lets You Live Your Best Life

PRODUCTION: Sam Hendricks

Over the past 30 years the Devmark Property Group has carved a name as an industry leader and grown into a multi award-winning property developer. Specialising in retirement, residential and commercial developments, the Group enjoys an embarrassment of riches across its multiple divisions, the success of which hinges on the shared philosophy of its people at all levels.

The foundations of the Devmark property Group philosophy and ethos reside within providing an exceptional and comprehensive service to clients within the property industry. “By drawing upon the Group’s collective

knowledge and expertise, Devmark continues to grow and prosper,” the company stresses. “The commitment of all employees, associates, partners and stakeholders is highly valued.”

creating developments of lasting value and appeal, is supported by our insistence on quality and the holistic integration of interrelated sectors,” the Devmark Property Group unpacks.

“In all divisions, we pride ourselves on our exceptional service and expertise.”

SET TO SOAR

For the past 25 years Devmark Property Management (DPM) has been behind the consummate management of the Devmark Property Group’s bulging portfolio, branched off from the internal organisational structure of Devmark when the stakeholders of the property management division elected to

open their expertise and knowledge to the broader property industry.

“Intimate knowledge of the construction industry adds to the exceptional service and our competitive advantage over other managing agents,” the division says. “We take great pride in what we do and manage each property as if it was our own.”

DPM’s brand has been built on strong and reliable service delivery, and the specialist management real estate group now has the perfect procedures and processes in place to ensure success henceforth, with this year already having delivered some notable milestones. “We were awarded three new sectional title

blocks, plus an industrial park and we are about to sign a contract with a massive property developer in the Boland,” details Operations Director Chanet Muller, herself involved with the management of Devmark’s property portfolio for the past 12 years and one of the founders of DPM.

“This is what has set us apart from our competitors and even as our portfolio grows it is important to keep this level of service.” In the next five years Devmark will have a peerless portfolio of properties encompassing residential, commercial, retail, industrial and under management, “and properties will be managed with the utmost care and professionalism, focusing on the client and overdelivering on our promises,” Muller clarifies. “When people hear the name DPM around a dinner conversation it should always be followed by praise for the service we deliver.

“We are also growing through acquisitions as we expand our service offering and have acquired two other businesses,” Muller expands. “One specialises in healthcare and the other is involved in energy saving solutions. But for now, our main focus will be property management and I think it will stay this way. Having too many irons in the fire has cost even the most successful companies some serious damages in the past.

“Lucky for us,” she qualifies, “people will always need a managing agent to manage their assets. Body corporates, homeowners’ associations and retail property owners, for instance, can’t manage their assets by themselves. Sure if you have one shopping centre, it is possible, but once your private portfolio grows, you almost always need a managing agent to manage it for you.”

DE ZWARTLAND WERF

Cape Union Mart, Checkers and Vida E are just some of the huge names to be found at the new De Zwartland Werf mall, an exciting R650 million multi-use development situated on the northern boundary of Malmesbury. Progress remains swift and successful, with the Dorp Street retail centre and Toyota showroom set to be completed by the end of October and the Crestcare private hospital by April next year. On completion these will be joined by a convenience retail centre consisting of approximately 50 stores, restaurants and entertainment.

“Malmesbury was identified as a sleeping giant in terms of property development, awaiting a catalyst to awaken its potential,” interjects Hein Ehlers, Group CEO of the Devmark Property Group, of one of the single biggest investments made in the entire Swartland area. “The continuous growth of the town presented an opportunity for the introduction of a substantial retail centre, as did the absence of a private hospital in the wider Swartland region.

“Malmesbury had not witnessed

construction or development of this scale in the past. Considering these factors, along with the expertise housed within the Devmark Property Group, embarking on this venture was a no-brainer.” De Zwartland Werf is an exciting 11 hectare mixed-use development that lies immediately adjacent to the N7 and Voortrekker Road, and one of Devmark Property Group’s most exciting mixeduse developments to date.

“It has been an exceptional project from day one,” a proud Ehlers delineates. “The short timeframe, from breaking ground to occupying the first buildings, will also be a record for such a large and complex development. The development has led to increased economic activity, best measured in terms of impacts on employment and associated

incomes, focusing on the local area and region, and to date, we have created employment for well over 700 people.

“This charming town is rapidly gaining popularity, thanks to its idyllic country lifestyle and strategic central location,” Ehlers finishes. “Its proximity to Cape Town and the airport enhances its appeal, making it easily accessible to both residents and visitors, while the area boasts a diversified economic base, which goes beyond agriculture. This economic diversity adds resilience and contributes to the overall growth and stability of the area. It is positioning itself as the ultimate place to live, work and play.”
