stc to migrate database to Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer private cloud hosted inside stc

stc Group, the national digital enabler, has announced a collaboration with Oracle to modernise its database technologies and accelerate its transition to the cloud. Under its agreement with Oracle, stc will be migrating its database systems to Oracle Exadata Cloud@ Customer, a high-performance cloud database platform delivered as a managed infrastructure service in stc’s own datacentres. The Oracle platform will enable stc to support and scale mission-critical OSS an BSS systems while retaining control of its data governance and meeting data security and locality regulations. The implementation adds to stc’s long standing collaboration with Oracle. As a hybrid cloud offering in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s distributed cloud strategy, Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer provides the foundation for stc’s wider digital strategy as the company consolidates critical systems, reduces operational costs, and accelerates development of new products and services.
82% of people in UAE have heard of Non-Fungible Tokens finds Kaspersky
Kaspersky has conducted research to investigate what people think about digital assets tokenised via blockchain. According to the results of the survey, 82% of people in the UAE have heard of Non-Fungible Tokens. At the same time, 21% of those who have heard of NFTs, know nothing about them. The danger is that lack of awareness increases the likelihood coming across financial and cyber risks in this sphere.
Around 67% who have heard of NFTs suppose that this technology is used to speculate in the digital sphere and 35% share the opinion that NFT is a technology to scam people online. However, 77% of respondents think it can offer a new progressive way of trading digital assets and 72% believe that it can ensure uniqueness of digital assets and attribute intellectual property.
When it comes to the future of NFT, 72% of people in the UAE think it will become more important and widely applied, 42% suppose that it is a hype bubble.
NEOM subsidiary TONOMUS offers NVIDIA’s AI and Oracle’s Cloud region powered platform for Saudi enterprises

The collaboration is aimed at boosting the delivery of groundbreaking AI capabilities across NEOM and Saudi Arabia.

TONOMUS will provide customers with direct access to NVIDIA’s advanced AI, digital twin solutions that take advantage of the planned Oracle Cloud Region to be located at NEOM, hosted by ZeroPoint DC hyperscale datacentre and via TONOMUS’ digital cloud platform.
Users of TONOMUS’ seamless, cloud management platform, which combines cloud sales and management with a user-friendly digital interface, will draw a range of valuable benefits from the company’s collaboration with Oracle and NVIDIA. In addition to curating access to the world’s top cloud service providers, the platform allows users to search for and compare a wide range of options, capabilities and costs in real time, and then purchase and manage solutions.
It also facilitates cost monitoring, resource optimisation and visibility, centralises customer management of multiple cloud assets and costs, and is an asset to finance and accounting departments in accessing information on historic and projected costs based on consumption.
OCI’s comprehensive set of public cloud services and NVIDIA’s accelerated computing stack – from GPUs and networking to software – combined with OCI’s AI cloud infrastructure of bare metal and RDMA cluster networking and storage, will provide NEOM-based enterprises with a broad, easily accessible portfolio of options for AI training and deep learning inference at scale.
