With every passing day a brand new product in entering the beauty and skin care market. With so many available options, it is easier for one to get confused and opt for the wrong product with lots of harmful components. These products have harmful effects on environments as well. A lot of manufacturers are carefully integrating similar programs and even the most natural and organic ingredients which don't cause any adverse impact on the skin or the environment. Now many consumers get confused about how to choose the best natural skin care products.

Skin is the most versatile organ of our body, given the fact that it is a two-way membrane and it mainly uses hair follicle and sebaceous glands to absorb and eliminate toxin from our body. So it is essential to keep pores open so that toxins produced in our body can get outside. So it is imperative to be aware of substances that we are putting on our skin as these ingredients like oils and lotions can clog pores and hinder the natural cleansing process. We need to be more careful about cosmetics that are specially formulated for facial application. Although most consumers are purchasing natural skin care products, many of them don’t know how to spot an authentic natural and organic skin care product. How to Spot Authentic Natural and Organic Product While buying a particular natural skin care product, one must invest a little time to read ingredients used information of that specific product. Cosmetic chemists claim that no product can logically be 100% organic. At the most, these can contain 40% natural ingredients.

While checking levels for components, one must know these simple facts, The top third ingredients usually include 90-95% and the middle third with 58% and the third from the last with 1-3% of the total combination. Consumers should also take extra care while reading levels to spot chemical substances derived from natural sources, technically these products are leveled as natural and organic products, but these can cause the same adverse effects in the skin as any chemical component. Many manufacturers are not using natural alternatives to chemical substances which are usually needed in natural products. Natural components are humectants and emollients. Emollients serve as the barrier that prevents dryness and protect skin in a harsh environment. Natural emollients get absorbed and don't clog pores, but synthetic emollients coat the skin and don't allow air to pass through the skin, which can cause irritation and allergy. Natural alternatives are Shea butter, jojoba butter, cocoa and plant oils. The most popular humectants that are used as collagen are elastin and keratin. These mainly come from animals. But natural plantbased sources would be glycerin, lecithin and panthenol that are commonly known as provitamin B5. Just like food, skin care products use preservatives to prolong its life. However there are natural preservatives that can be used, but many manufacturers use synthetic preservatives like parabens to reduce the cost. Natural preservatives like tea tree oil, grapefruit seed extract and D-Alpha Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E) do the same job. But products that contain these natural preservatives should be stored in low room temperature, preferably in refrigerator.
