BIS: OVERVIEW
BIS(Bureau of Indian Standards) is a national organization established to inspect, check the quality of products being manufactured in India and thereafter issue a license to manufacture the products in India. The sample is taken by BIS inspectors, after a due inspection in the recognized laboratory of BIS Certification; the label is issued by BIS.
APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION Application shall be made in Form VI with (a) self-evaluation cum declaration as specified in Form VII; and (b) test report of sample The laboratory should be recognized by the Bureau or any laboratory abroad covered under a mutual recognition agreement with the Bureau.
