Naturopathy or naturopathic medicine is a form of alternative medicine employing a wide array of "natural" modalities, including homeopathy, herbalism, and acupuncture, as well as diet (nutrition) and lifestyle counseling. Naturopaths favor a holistic approach with noninvasive treatment and generally avoid the use of surgery and drugs. Naturopathic medicine is ineffective and contains many pseudoscientific concepts; its practice can be harmful, raising ethical issues.Naturopaths have been accused of being charlatans and practicing quackery.

Naturopathy is often practiced in combination with other forms of alternative medicines such as Reiki, homoeopathy, acupuncture etc. Much of the advice of naturopaths is sound, e.g., exercise, quit smoking, eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, practice good nutrition, etc.
