After passing 10th a candidate can opt for diploma programme in Automobile Engineering. For B.E/ B.Tech in Automobile Engineering - 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical with high percentage of marks. For M.E/ M.Tech - Bachelor’s degree in B.E/ B.Tech. For pursuing Ph.D degree a candidate should hold master’s degree in automobile engineering.

The pay scale in majority of the governmental organization for entry level engineers will be in the range of Rs.1,80, 000 to Rs.2,40, 000 per annum. In private firms Entry level engineers can avail a minimum of Rs. 1,44, 000 to Rs. 1,80, 000 per annum. Experienced professionals can earn up to Rs. 5,00, 000 per annum.
