Interlocked Delivery Systems Many sites have fully bunded storage areas which are designed to protect the environment from leakage. However, the biggest threat to operations comes during the delivery and decanting of fuels, liquid or powdered produce into and out of the bunded area. Many tanker drivers openly admit to creating spills either through defective hoses, couplings or even in extreme cases driving off while the hose is still attached!
By installing a FlapstopperTMplus an interlocked, trapped key mechanism your site can be fully compliant to PPG7 in an instant. Upon entering the site the driver would first gain access to the transfer area using a key obtained from security. This key would then be used to release a second key which simultaneously would signal to the FlapstopperTMControl panel to close the FlapstopperTM check valve before the transfer commences. The second released key would then be used by the driver to open up a valve cover to permit the connection of the hoses and the transfer to take place. Only once the hose has been safely removed and the site inspected and verified free of spills would the key sequence be reversed and the FlapstopperTM reopened. .
