programme design The BCA programme has been designed as a learning journey with three key stages. 1.  Reflection on global issues and challenges 2.  Exploration of ideas for promoting positive and lasting change 3.  Development of concrete group action plans to put meaningful ideas into practice These three stages will be explored through a range of exciting learning methodologies, including the U theory, Design Thinking, Art of Hosting, Appreciative Inquiry and other key social innovation methodologies. As well as plenary learning sessions, participants will spend time working in project groups with a dedicated tutor who will mentor them throughout the course.

The Programme is structured as follows: •  A 6-day residential exchange (June 2-7, 2014): in which participants are encouraged to deepen their knowledge about global challenges through creative multi-disciplinary exchanges such as: open talks, webinars, facilitated discussion, debates, workshops, games, role-plays, practical exercises and site visits. These activities are intended to promote reflection and the emergence of new ideas for addressing challenges which are captured in group action plans. •  A 5-month virtual planning period (July-November, 2014): where participants work together through a webbased Community of Practice to develop their action plans further. Mentors will be allocated to support each group and options provided for cross-group exchanges. Groups will be expected to provide regular updates on their work and respond to questions from mentors and peers. •  F inal Project submission (December 12, 2014): participants submit a creative presentation that shares their work and its ambitions for future change.

The Final Project involves the development of innovative products, services or experiences that will have a significant impact on human lives
