To image 2507, I would crop so that the other objects at the top of the screen aren’t visible. Then increase brightness to decrease the shadows and increase contrast so that the theme stands out.
To image 2519, I would increase brightness and contrast so that the blue colour really makes the image stand out. Also, this would emphasise the theme. To image 2518, I would increase the contrast and brightness so that the colours stand out. I like this image as all of the objects look like they are layered up on each other.

I took this image, because it has lots of layers of buildings and sign posts. It almost looks as if I have merged lots of different images together with a busy foreground back ground and middle ground. This image is unedited and during editing, I would enhance each layer by adding contrast and brightening the image. I would also experiment with the colour balance by decreasing and increasing the different balances in order to make my image contrast and emphasise the reds and oranges in the images.
This is a crop of the image I took before and I realised that because there was so much content into the picture, I could crop it down to make another image of layered buildings. I could use this in my final piece when I am collaging buildings by adding these layers.
Furthermore, this man was a significant focus of my image because among all of the business of buildings, the simplicity of him just looking out appealed to me.
During the trip, I took this image of natural double exposure which I believe are the most effective types of this technique because all the images fit together co-ordinately and then the image can further be edited on photo shop changing the atmosphere and feeling of the piece as a whole.
These are two experiments of the image changing the colour balance to change the overall effect.
I layered up all of my experiments of this certain image to create a vibrating effect and have various highlights and shadows of different colours.

Alexey Alpatov I like how in these images the artist has used different materials such as paint and has manipulated the images on photo shop first so that the final presentation is aesthetically pleasing. I could use inspiration from the colour schemes in my urban final piece and steer towards beiges and oranges.

 This technique on photo shop drew me in because I like the idea of taking of a wide range public space that is full of people such as a park. Then with the images using paint or different materials to single the people in the picture out by having dripping paint replacing their figure and making their silhouettes morphed and abstract with materials such as string and wax.  Furthermore, I like how the artist has combined two or more images into one to give off a simple and effective over all image.
The double exposure is a technique that I could use or could practise within my final piece.
This is also another strong example of bringing two images together but the colour schemes in the image aren’t as contrasting and as vibrant as I would like.

Robert Mars
 With this artist I like the collaging technique that he has and also the vibrant colours. We can see that the images are his own and I like how he has just extracted certain parts of the image to make one big one.  Furthermore, the different layers of different textures appealed to me because it gives the picture depth.
Close up/far away
Diptych’s and Triptych’s To make my images, I cropped and edited each one on photo shop, opened up a new document of length 750 and height 200 and arranged the images within it. To make the border, I used the pipette tool to select my colour and select the area I wanted coloured. In this Triptych, I like the variety of thickness in the borders and how the images almost look like they are slowly moving further and further in whilst corresponding with the borders

In both these images I wanted to capture the lines and the symmetry. The plain colours emphasise the structure of both images and through photo shop I could enhance the sharpness and experiment with colour balance such as cyan to make the images have a cold atmosphere.
I feel as though i brought out the texture of this image because from the angle in which i took the image i made the image about the texture instead of the structure of the radiator. My intention was to make the roughness and grey painting the main focus of the image and the lines created by the radiator gives it a good composition. In this image of the sign, I would darken it as the flash had a great effect of the lighting of the image. Also, I would increase the contrast so that it sharpens the layers of the shapes of the image and adds depth. Also, I would experiment with the colour balance so that the painted glass at the top of the image emphasises its colour so that the different aspects of the image are drawn out.
These images work well together, not because they are of the same angle and image, but because one has the flash on and one does not. I think on both images, the lighting reflection is successful because it has stretched out onto the tiles and emphasises the dimensions, texture and patterns of the tile work. The image without the flash almost looks like it has been edited into black and white making it look authentic and old fashioned. However the image with the lash emphasises the swirls of green pattern which works well with the lighting. Also the lines and pattern work well for the composition of the photo. In editing and presenting, I would perhaps put these two images reflecting each other or create a triptych or diptych.
This was my first attempt in incorporating a mirror into my image to give it more depth and a different perspective. I wanted to create new images or make an image look like it was almost inside another so for the rest of my shoot I continued to experiment with this new technique. I also liked how because the room was so light, when I found a dark place within it, I could reflect a bright and vibrant image off of the mirror which contrasted with the background.
This ladder picture almost look like the ladder carries on into another room however, I would need to crop the right of the picture in order to keep it neat and have the lines all symmetrical.
This is one of my favourite images as it looks like a normal picture that has been put in a setting. This is why I believe the image is so successful because at first glance, it doesn’t look like a mirror.
By using the mirror, I created almost another room in this image which was the effect that I wanted to create, however, I don’t like the angle that I took the image because now I need to crop it to get rid of the excess floor. However, in all three of these images I enjoyed creating them because the vibrant blue colours and setting create a vivid abstract image. The rust also adds the urban effect with all of its colours that can be increased in photo shop in colour balance and contrasting.
With this image, I wanted to capture the reflection, but my initial intention was to make the tiled feature look abstract. The bottom picture was my first attempt but by changing the angle of the mirror and camera I created this blurry reflection that emphasises the tile, colour and feature. I didn't want it to be an exact reflection because then it wouldn’t look to edited and therefore I am happy with the composition of this photo. In editing, I would experiment by increasing the colour balance in particular the greens and blues to give a cold sea theme look. I would also enhance the contrast and brightness to make the mirror reflection clearer and make the picture pop.
In the several images in which I used this mirror, I loved the look of how the mirror looked like it was a bubble that enclosed another world and it had the bright panes of the roofing that makes the reflection stand out. In editing, I would sharpen the image and use brightness and contrast to make the image clearer. I would also change the colours balance in the shadows and back board wood so that the decaying wood will give off a deep and vibrant rusty colour.
From my mirror photography I then went onto experiment with different shape mirror. From looking at artist research, to the left, I gathered ideas that inspired me to create my own images. These images however would include the contrasting background technique I used in the other mirror images as it makes the photo as a whole more abstract.
Rauschenberg
This artist is almost all of the ideas of all the previous artists mixed together which the layering and the collaging. I could use inspiration from his pieces in collaging my pieces which ceno-types and paint. Furthermore, I could add drawings over the top of my images to add layers and create a manual double exposure.
Experiments In this piece I was experimenting with the different materials in my background in order to make my images pop out of the piece. Also, I wanted to vary my actual images between the foreground and middle ground by adding tracing paper and different materials on top to create layers. I found that the bright colours that I used didn’t portray the urban theme that I wanted and didn’t support my images therefore in further experiments I will practise with browns and reds.
Also, to improve it, I could add further rips into my backing piece, as it provides a good texture to the picture as a whole. I like the spray paint as it gives a very lose coverage and adds slight tones to the piece and I could use stencils and spray paint in my final piece to add layers and depth.
I took part of the original experiment and on photo shop, experimented with different exposure and layers tools such as colour burn and soft light. I wanted to try and layer up my image by adding building as various structures.
I felt like just adding the bridge was not enough so I added a building in the back ground that is more dominant and blends into the various colours. If I was to use this in my final piece I would need to use the erase tool and experiment with its transparency to blend the image more into the background.
In my final piece I will add high levels of contrast and experiment with the levels increasing black and white to almost eliminate any grey in the images. The contrast would add bold aspects to the overall piece and draw the eye to various parts of the piece. I used a black biro pen to draw structured lines of the image out onto the rest of the piece of cardboard to make it look like a stretched and scratched image.
Adding layers Many artists use ink and spray paint to add layers to their work and to give it more depth and through cropping and closely looking through my various shoots, I have identified potential stencils for spray paint and for ink printing including:
Through experiments, I have identified that text such as street signs work best as stencils in collaging.

A01 PHOTOGRAPHER RESEARCH: YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORK AND THE CONNECTIONS TO YOUR OWN WORK
WWW: identified pictures and presented them from various photographers, I have connected all of the photographers work that I have looked at and identified one artist that has all of the techniques within it and inspires me the most. All photographers have some element of editing the pictures physically with different materials rather than editing on Photoshop.
EBI: Analyse the images and say how they would help or inspire my own work. Also say how these photographers wouldn’t help and what I like about he images. A02 EXPERIMENTS AND REFINING: HOW WELL HAVE YOU TRIED OUT DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES AND HOW WELL HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO IMPORVE YOUR WORK AND IDEAS AS TIME AS PROGRESSED
A03 SHOWING IDEAS THROUGH THE PHOTOS AND WRITTEN EXPLAINATIONS : HAVE YOU SHOWN SKILL, AND THEMES HAVE YOU EXPLAINED YOUR IDEAS AND TECHNIQUES AS YOU HAVE GONE ALONG
WWW: scanned in clear images of experiments and different versions of one piece of work. It shows how I can gradually get more confident with adding layers and trying different techniques manually or with the computer.
EBI: Analyse these images and experiments saying how they will help and how they will not. Furthermore, experiment more with colours and materials to see which would suit best with the theme of my work. WWW: On certain images I have explained the process of many of my shoots and edits. Also, I have explained what I like to use in my work and what doesn’t work with the theme and atmosphere of my work.
EBI: complete this for all images and slides in the PowerPoint and further talk about how it could influence my final piece.
A04 FINAL PIECE 2 TARGETS: Annotate my artist research and my different experiments and also experiment more with colours.
